Fun weekend working the @chimarathon & getting to spend quality time with @andychocha

leadership team from aid station 17, still looking strong at the end of the race!

I threw out my shoes after because they smelled like bananas 🍌🤮

@purpletaffy123 was still smiling when he made it to my station, which was at 22+ miles. 💪🏽

Before the day got super hot, spotted another friend running!

Announcing the adoption of CROISSANT 🥐

Turns out this orange lovebug is a girl and she’s a low key cuddle bug like none other.

She was listed on Petfinder for less than 24 hours when she received an excellent application & went home the following weekend.

Enormous thanks to my fellow rescuers who helped care for her when I brought her into our shared holding space and then immediately went away for a long weekend, and to her wonderful fosters who gave her so much love and affection these past few weeks. taken in East Flatbush by @bkmichele

It’s with heavy, weary hearts that we share that today we said goodbye to Fat Cat. ❤️‍🩹🕊️

We went into his rescue and eye surgery hoping he had a curable infection that we could fix, allowing him to live many more years on his block. But unfortunately Fat Cat was suffering from what we strongly suspect was cancer - both in his eyes and in his lymph nodes. It made his recovery from surgery more difficult and the last thing we wanted was for Fat Cat to suffer.

This decision was made with his vets but also his caretakers, who came to visit him, and tell him how much they loved him. They shared photos of him and his bonded friend from their younger days - saying how Fat Cat was always so gentle, letting all the other cats eat first before he got his share. I’m so grateful to Fat Cats caretakers and to @bkmichele for all the love and care they give the cats in our neighborhood

Tragically, Fat Cat’s bonded friend passed away last year, after being hit by a car. We rescuers and colony caretakers work so hard to try and make life a little gentler for the feral cats living outside, but it never truly feels like enough. 💔 We hope that their spirits have found each other, souls, tails and atoms intertwining once more.

If you see a little cat on the street, please take note. Crack a can, look up TNR in your area, give a kindness to these little beings who should never even be out there in the first place. by @bkmichele

Found out that @cartdept had Keith Haring’s cars on display (this week only!) and since I opted to work from a coffee shop in the city for part of today, I also took a walk to go see them for a few minutes. Definitely worth it. taken in Morton Street, West Village by @bkmichele

What a milestone! I rescued Guinness when she was just 4 weeks old (weighing less than a pound at her first vet visit) and in the 18 years since she has been through so much with me.

We live in a world with daily medications, lactulose, and where every 💩 is celebrated. She’s high maintenance but pretty legendary now. I’m really grateful we have such good friends and cat sitters to care for her when I need or want to travel. taken in Brooklyn, New York by @bkmichele

I present you with a poorly curated set of photos from my recent trip to Tokyo.

While technically a business trip, the timing was related to the #shinjukuhalfmarathon. I ran the 10K. Other than that I also got to eat a lot of excellent food, sip some tasty whisky and see a variety of protests.

Spent Friday evening trapping this tabby momma and her 2 kittens. Super easy tonight thanks to a diligent caretaker that had these cats on a perfect schedule. taken in East Flatbush by @bkmichele
