I have to take a moment to shout out @moony_mann and his lovely wife for stopping by my gig the other day during their holiday trip to Nashville. Simply put: I WOULD NOT BE HERE WITHOUT THIS MAN. He hired me in his band when I was young and we spent MANY years playing all over Southwest Florida together! I learned the majority of my professional skill-set and song repertoire working with him, and he was always encouraging in regard to any of my other efforts, including making the move to TN. So about 9-10 years ago I had the pleasure of doing some demoing and product testing for a new MIDI integration system for the bass guitar. This FretTrax system developed by Lee Young allowed you to have infinite tonal/sonic options, with AMAZING tracking. The customization options were virtually limitless, and you could even tweak the latency down to the millisecond (which we absolutely did to find the best tracking rates for different sounds!) You could use it with/without the bass sound itself, and you didn’t even need to pluck the strings for the MIDI to track! Special thanks to @bassologyaroundtheworld (Anthony Wellington) for getting me involved! It was a blast working with Lee! This system has since grown up and been used by many incredible players, including the great @victorwooten who I’ve added a clip of in the last slide so you can see how he has used it in his performances! taken in Nashville, Tennessee by @bkmusicbass
