Been trying to play Space Marine II on harder difficulties to get better and unlock cooler stuff. But now and again I go back to super easy to feel unstoppable.
Couple of hammer swings, a krak grenade to the face, a few blasts of the neo-volkite. Piece of piss.
This part of the level had me crying and stealing other people’s health packs a year ago.

Here’s one of those boring cut scenes I was telling you about where nothing happens…

OK so some parts of the game are better than others, but the story and characters are still super turd 💩 Best thing about this scene in particular, Jean Grey isn’t in it.

And that’s just my opinion by the way. I’ve bought and played the game, so I’m entitled to one. Feel free to have your own, whether it agrees with mine or not. A lot of the people who like this game accuse me of “being manipulated by the internet” or that I “have unrealistic stands” or “don’t know Wolverine or the comics.” They give advice like “don’t listen to the internet trolls and form your own opinion.” Good advice. But what I don’t hear people say is what they like about the game. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I went for a coffee @CaffeBriganteUK in Leeds. Feels like a bit of a hidden gem, away from the city centre. They also have Naruto quotes on the wall, which as a nerd, I loved. The coffee was delicious, and whilst I was there, I ordered a sandwich… this sandwich (not pictured)… Every conversation I’ve had since, I have ended up making it about this sandwich. It was called the “Modena Focaccia” which I assume is Italian for “Very Good Sandwich”. Let me tell you, it lives up to its name.

My groundbreaking in game video game photography does this game far too much justice.

Disclaimer: Although Wolverine is the hero depicted here, Jean Grey is actually the hero. Jean Grey who shouldn’t even be in the game as she is not Wolverine’s love interest, she’s in love with Scott Summers.

The game has gotten worse the longer I’ve played it, but I will say this. The fight with Sabretooth is pretty cool and Insomniac Games might not know anything about stoicism, being laconic, masculinity or Wolverine, but by God they know how to make a photo mode.

Was out in Leeds the other day and had my first Chick-fil-A… Never had a fast “food” experience like it. The place was clean. It felt posh. I may even have been underdressed. The staff were polite, helpful and even looked happy to be there. I imagine the chickens were happy too… happy they had not ended up at a Popeye’s. I don’t know what you’re paying staff @ChickFilA, but I know it’s not enough.
Food was OK. Needs a lime mayo dip.

I heard this place gets some hate because of Christian funding or something? I don’t know anything about that, but I do know Matthew: 10:22.

If you want something quick and don’t eat it too often… would recommend.

Wolverine is a killer… a killing machine in fact, and if he wants you dead, there a good chance you’re already dying. So if you piss him off, you better hope 1 of 4 things are true…

1. You’re unkillable
2. You’re at the very least, hard as fuck
3. On some level he respects you
Or…
4. He’s in love with your Mrs and doesn’t want to see her upset

That’s Marvel’s Wolverine as I remember him growing up and reading comics in the 80s and 90s. He was confident. He was ugly. He was mean. And he was cool as fuck… That was Marvel’s Wolverine. I’m not sure who this guy is, he’s none of the above.

Jean Grey is in it too, but not the one you know. She’s been replaced by a dumb, arrogant ball breaker. How dumb is she? Well, there’s a “floor is lava” level where the overly confident Jean uses her telekinetic powers to build the level as you navigate through it. Why she doesn’t just use said powers to carry you to safety 🤷🏻‍♂️ who knows? Maybe she likes watching you die?

Worst of all, the game is boring. Long uneventfully dull cutscenes sandwich repetitive drawn out fights. It’s a feminine fantasy of Wolverine. I haven’t felt like a badass or a competent ruthless killer on the edge once while playing. I felt more like the love interest in in a tragic and unrealistic romance. Twilight but with no attractive women.

I’m only playing through it because I spent £60 on it. I doubt I’ll ever buy a Marvel video game my Insomniac again. Sorry ladies, you had your chance.

I’m trying hard not to gloat because I know a lot of you have been jealous since I posted about my Gwent card deck box set, complete with little cardboard tokens to track the score, a game board and literally, every card in every deck… it really is a must have item that you probably don’t have… that I do. That’s not a flex, it’s just a fact and facts don’t care about your feelings.
It’s also a fact that, as of last week, I am the owner of physical copies of every single Metal Gear game. Sorry not sorry.

Man… been a rough week.

Peter Cullen was instrumental in my childhood development. His portrayal of Optimus Prime helped shape me and ensured my moral compass always pointed true… Some accuse me of being an obnoxious do gooder, or that I perch myself on a mile high moral high horse, but those people are probably jealous filthy lying Decepticons. He lent his voice to many characters throughout my childhood but Prime has always stayed with me and I’m really grateful.

Growing up in the 80s you would be surprised to see Tim Curry pop up in anything, because he was the man who could do everything. Any role you put him in, he was perfect for. He was from a generation of British actors who never gave less than 100%, whether he was playing a transvestite, a devil or Long John Silver. How spoiled we were.
