Dallas photographers, meet your holiday shoot location ✨

The 2026 holiday scenes are officially LIVE at Black & Light Studio, and we could not be more excited for you to shoot them!

This year, we’re giving you three full holiday scenes designed to be styled, mixed, matched, and made your own — with new props, new furniture, new backdrops, and so many little details built for beautiful holiday sessions.

Think cozy family portraits, polished holiday minis, sweet sibling moments, couples, kids, full families, detail shots, close cuddles, and all the Christmas magic your clients are already asking for.

And something different this year…

Our holiday scenes will be available through January 3 instead of December 23, which means you have two extra weekends to shoot. Perfect for families gathering after Christmas, out-of-town relatives, and clients who couldn’t squeeze photos into the pre-holiday chaos.

Black & Light Studio will only be closed:
December 24–25
December 31–January 1

Holiday booking season is officially HERE, so let’s answer a few questions we’ve been getting from photographers who are new to Black & Light. ✨

First things first: the holiday scenes are not preset.

When you book the studio, you’re renting the space and full inventory — which means you have creative control to style the sets, move props, mix and match pieces, and make the setup feel like your own.

A few important things to know before your session:
• Photographer is not included
• Your reservation is from entry to exit
• Book enough time to set up, shoot, reset, pack up, and leave the studio ready for the next rental
• You can set up multiple scenes at once when the layout allows
• Pets are allowed only if they are housebroken and leashed
• Please review the shoe cover policy before your session

Black & Light was designed to give photographers options, flexibility, and room to create — but the best sessions happen when you come prepared.

For anyone dreaming of holiday photos with soft neutrals, beautiful textures, a little sparkle, and a whole lot of elegance… this one’s for you.

A towering display of shimmering gold and silver gifts, an ornate white fireplace mantel, textured stockings, festive greenery, and the coziest ivory loveseat. Every little piece comes together to make Champagne Christmas feel glamorous without losing that warm, cozy holiday feeling.

We especially love how many directions photographers can take this set. Dress it up for editorial-inspired portraits and holiday branding, or keep things sweet and cozy for family photos, couples, little ones, and Christmas minis.

And in case you missed it, we’re keeping ALL of our holiday scenes up through January 3 this year, so you’ve got a little extra time to get those sessions in, especially with family coming into town for the holidays.

One thing about Black & Light Studio? We are V E R S A T I L E.

The studio might be decked out with wreaths, trees, greens, and reds right now, but we still have plenty of clean, colorful, non-holiday moments ready to shoot.

Case in point: this bold little branding portrait for a hairstylist/salon shoot. Clean backdrop, statement chair, great light, and just enough personality to make it feel anything but basic.

Whether you’re shooting holiday minis, branding photos, headshots, content, portraits, or something totally your own, there’s room to make the studio fit the vision.

YESSSSS, you can build THIS in under five minutes.

One of my biggest goals with the holiday sets at Black & Light Studio is making them look layered, expensive and completely styled… without renters spending the first 30 minutes of their session decorating.

The Ralph Lauren-inspired Christmas set was designed so you can walk in, pull the pieces together and be shooting in less than five minutes.

Everything you see is already here:

• Deep navy backdrop + coordinating rug
• Emerald green velvet loveseat
• Evergreen Christmas tree already trimmed with navy velvet bows, burgundy/red ornaments, gold bells and an oversized burgundy velvet bow
• Tartan-wrapped gift boxes + navy velvet ribbon
• Plaid + faux-fur accent pillows
• Gold reindeers
• Gold lanterns
• Hammered gold accent table
• Giant teddy bear for the littles
• All those rich little layers that give it that classic Ralph Lauren Christmas feel

🍒Meet Jumbo Joy Holidays, where the oversized ornaments have outgrown the trees and the bows want extra attention.

Her personality: THAT friend who starts playing Christmas music early, wears the biggest bow, and gets just as excited as the kids. Joyful, a little mischievous, and delightfully over the top.

Ralph Lauren–inspired Christmas set is officially LIVE at Black & Light Studio, and this new scene is dripping in gold, plaid, velvet, and very generous bows 🎄🧸

Our 12ft navy rolling wall backdrop sets the scene for an evergreen tree dressed in navy velvet ribbons, plush red ornaments, gold bells, and an oversized red bow cascading from the top.

Stacks of green tartan gifts sit beside a green velvet loveseat layered with a red plaid throw, a cozy pillow, and a teddy bear ready for company, while golden reindeer and lanterns finish the look.
