The origin of porta potties can be traced back to the growing need for portable sanitation during the 20th century. Before modern portable toilets existed, construction workers, military personnel, and people attending large outdoor events often had limited or unsanitary restroom options. Temporary outhouses made from wood were commonly used, but they were difficult to transport, unpleasant to clean, and lacked proper hygiene standards. As cities expanded and large-scale infrastructure projects became more common, there was increasing demand for a more practical and mobile restroom solution.

One of the earliest major developments in portable sanitation occurred during World War II. Shipbuilders and factory workers needed accessible restrooms that could be placed near work areas without requiring permanent plumbing. Portable toilets helped improve efficiency because workers no longer had to travel long distances to find a restroom. Early versions were typically made from wood or metal and were much heavier than the plastic units commonly seen today.

The modern porta potty began to take shape in the 1950s and 1960s with the introduction of lightweight fiberglass and plastic materials. These newer designs were easier to transport, more durable, and significantly more sanitary. Chemical treatments were also introduced to control odor and break down waste, making portable toilets much more practical for public use.

By the 1970s and 1980s, porta potties had become common at construction sites, concerts, fairs, sporting events, and festivals. Over time, companies added features such as hand sanitizer dispensers, sinks, ventilation systems, and even luxury restroom trailers for upscale events.

Today, porta potties are an essential part of outdoor infrastructure around the world. They provide temporary sanitation in places where permanent plumbing is unavailable, helping support public health, convenience, and large gatherings of people in both urban and remote environments.

Teabagging in Call of Duty is a long-running multiplayer gaming ritual in which a player repeatedly crouches over a defeated opponent’s body after getting a kill, mimicking a crude sexual gesture as a form of taunting or domination. The practice traces back to early online shooters in the late 1990s and early 2000s, particularly games like Halo and Quake, but became deeply embedded in Call of Duty culture as the franchise exploded in popularity through titles like Modern Warfare, Black Ops, and Warzone. Unlike formal game mechanics such as killstreaks or emotes, teabagging emerged organically from player behavior, requiring nothing more than the crouch button and an audience willing to be annoyed. Over time, it evolved into a recognizable social language within online gaming, used to celebrate revenge kills, humiliate opponents, provoke emotional reactions, or simply entertain teammates. In competitive matches, being teabagged is often interpreted as disrespect, particularly after a close gunfight or repeated death, while successfully returning the favor can become a miniature rivalry within the larger game. The act also gained visibility through YouTube montages, Twitch streams, esports broadcasts, and gaming memes, cementing it as one of the most iconic forms of online trash talk. Although some players view teabagging as immature or toxic, others see it as a harmless and humorous part of multiplayer culture, comparable to celebratory dances in sports or exaggerated taunts in professional wrestling. As Call of Duty has evolved into a massive global franchise with cross-platform play and streaming audiences, teabagging has remained a surprisingly durable cultural artifact — a low-tech, universally understood signal of victory, disrespect, comedy, and internet-era competitiveness.

Jersey Mike’s is a rapidly growing American sandwich chain known for its East Coast-style subs and emphasis on fresh-sliced ingredients. It was originally founded in 1956 as Mike’s Submarines in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, a popular beach town where the shop built a loyal local following. In 1975, a high school student named Peter Cancro, who had been working at the shop, purchased the business with financial backing from his football coach, renaming it Jersey Mike’s Subs and beginning its transformation into a national brand. Unlike many fast food chains, Jersey Mike’s built its identity around authenticity, slicing meats and cheeses to order and preparing sandwiches “Mike’s Way,” a signature style that includes onions, lettuce, tomatoes, oil, vinegar, and spices. The company remained relatively small for decades before aggressively expanding through franchising in the 2000s, eventually growing to thousands of locations across the United States and internationally. Jersey Mike’s has also cultivated a strong brand culture centered on community involvement, most notably through its annual “Month of Giving” campaign, where stores donate proceeds to local charities, raising millions of dollars each year. As it has scaled, the chain has positioned itself as a higher-quality alternative within the fast-casual sandwich space, competing with brands like Subway while maintaining a focus on freshness, customer experience, and its nostalgic Jersey Shore roots.

Subway is one of the largest fast food chains in the world, with tens of thousands of locations across more than 100 countries. It was founded in 1965 by Fred DeLuca and Peter Buck, who set out to help pay for college by opening a small sandwich shop in Connecticut. Originally called “Pete’s Super Submarines,” the brand later became Subway and grew rapidly through a franchise model, positioning itself as a customizable and relatively healthier alternative to traditional fast food, with made-to-order sandwiches and fresh ingredients. Subway became one of the fastest-growing franchises in history, at one point surpassing McDonald’s in total locations worldwide. Its signature “footlong” sandwich became a cultural staple, even sparking legal disputes over whether the sandwiches actually measured 12 inches. The company has also experimented with a wide range of menu items globally, adapting to regional tastes with different breads, proteins, and toppings depending on the country. The company’s public image shifted dramatically with the rise and fall of Jared Fogel, who gained national attention for claiming he lost over 200 pounds by eating Subway sandwiches and became the brand’s longtime spokesperson. In 2015, he was convicted in a highly publicized criminal case involving minors, marking one of the most notorious downfalls tied to a corporate brand and adding a lasting, controversial chapter to Subway’s history.

Iran is one of the world’s oldest civilizations, with a history stretching back over 7,000 years to some of the earliest known urban settlements. It sits on the Iranian Plateau and is home to the ruins of Persepolis, the ancient ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire, which once stretched from Greece to India and was the largest empire the world had ever seen.
Iran is the 18th largest country by area and is remarkably geographically diverse, containing deserts, dense forests, snow-capped mountains, and coastlines on both the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf. It has one of the most educated populations in the Middle East, with a literacy rate above 85%, and a largely young, urban population of roughly 87 million people.
Iran holds the world’s second largest natural gas reserves and fourth largest oil reserves, yet paradoxically struggles with significant economic challenges due to decades of international sanctions. The Persian language (Farsi) is one of the great literary languages of the world, giving rise to poets like Rumi, Hafez, and Omar Khayyam, whose works are still read globally today.
