🏆𝑽𝑬𝑹𝑴𝑶𝑵𝑻 𝑳𝑨𝑪𝑹𝑶𝑺𝑺𝑬 𝑪𝑳𝑨𝑺𝑺𝑰𝑪 2030𝑨 𝑫𝑰𝑽𝑰𝑺𝑰𝑶𝑵 𝑪𝑯𝑨𝑴𝑷𝑰𝑶𝑵𝑺 𝑩𝑳𝑨𝑪𝑲 𝑩𝑬𝑨𝑹 2030🏆

Congrats to our 2030s who won their 1st Championship in the teams history to end their summer up in Vermont this past weekend! This group of boys have come a long way since the fall. They've learned to be better teammates, to embrace struggles as opportunities for future success, grit, mental toughness, and most importantly to stay focused on the process and not the outcome.

7+ hours away from home, these boys balled out putting it all together from the 1st whistle to the last. They played the best TEAM lacrosse they played all year while multiple guys stepped up to contribute to the teams success. They embraced it all, trusted each other in key moments, and their reward was their first ever championship in a tough 8-4 Win over a very strong East Coast Elite squad from Long Island! Congrats boys, you're Champions!

Congrats as well to 2030 Head Coach Bryan Churchey on leading these boys to maintain their Growth Mindset as well as his amazing 2030 Coaching Staff of Coach Bob Capozzoli, Pete Hewitt, PJ Hewitt, and Tom Koufopoulos. These guys all came prepared weekly to keep the focus on the players and their development! Thanks as well to our amazing parents who went above and beyond with ice towels and tents to keep these boys fresh and supported them all year long. Special shoutout as well to our Face Off Coaches Jutty Daubert and Peyton Bannak our FO unit improved every week thanks to them they dominated Vermont!

We are excited to be hosting our Annual Fall Recruiting Night at Ursinus Colleges Olin Fall this evening starting at 7pm! We hope to see many of our Black Bear Families and players in attendance as well as anyone locally who would like to learn more about the college recruiting process!

Black Bear Lacrosse Club is proud to announce the hiring of 𝙐𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙈𝙚𝙣’𝙨 𝙇𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙚 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙍𝙮𝙖𝙣 𝘽𝙪𝙧𝙠𝙚 as the organization’s new 𝘿𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜. Burke brings extensive NCAA experience, a strong coaching pedigree, and a deep national network of college coaches to support Black Bear athletes and families throughout their recruiting journeys.

In this role, Burke will lead a comprehensive recruiting support system designed to help high school players and families within the club navigate the increasingly competitive college landscape. His responsibilities will include:

One-on-one recruiting consultations with players and families

Guidance on contacting, communicating, and building relationships with college coaches

Strategic support in evaluating academic, athletic, and financial fit

Leveraging his extensive network of NCAA coaches to advocate for Black Bear athletes

Assisting as a coach for Black Bear’s 10th and 11th grade teams during fall and summer seasons

Burke’s addition strengthens Black Bear’s commitment to providing personalized, transparent, and effective recruiting guidance for every athlete in the program.

“Ryan is a tremendous addition to our club,” said the Black Bear Lacrosse Club Directors Bryan Churchey and Grady Wise. “His experience at the NCAA level, his ability to connect with families, and his passion for helping athletes find the right college fit will elevate our recruiting support to an entirely new level while helping us continue to offer our players and families exceptional guidance in finding the best fit for them. We can't wait to get started and for our families to use him as a resource in the recruiting process.”

Burke will begin working with players and families immediately as Black Bear prepares for the fall recruiting season with Ursinus College Hosting the clubs Fall Recruiting Night on Monday October 5th at 7pm!

Harford 29’

Beyond excited to announce that I’ll be continuing my academic and lacrosse career at Harford Community College!

I want to thank my mom and dad for everything they’ve done for me and for always supporting me through this journey. I also want to thank all of my coaches, teammates, friends, and everyone who has helped me get to this point.

A special thank you to Coach Verardi and the entire Harford coaching staff for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I’m extremely grateful and can’t wait to get to work.

Chestnut Hill 31’

I am grateful for the opportunity to announce my commitment to Division II Chestnut Hill College.

First and foremost I would love to thank my parents and my grandmother for their unwavering support along my lacrosse journey.

Next, I would love to thank my high school coaches-Coach Goff, Coach Wright, Coach Hyland, and Coach Serg. I would love to also thank my club coaches-Coach Churchy, Coach Lyle, Coach Donateo, and Coach Marren. Thank you for believing in me and helping me become a stronger goaltender and a stronger person.

I would like to give a special thank you to Coach Kluse for introducing me to the sport and teaching me the basics to play lacrosse, as well as SJU Alumnus Tommy Gross, Coach Gill at Goaliesmith and Coach Page at Foundations Lacrosse for my goalie training.

Finally, I would love to thank Coach DeCarlo and Coach Blaise for giving me the opportunity to continue my academic career and compete at Chestnut Hill College.
