Spent some time with the @canyon_mtb folk at the Whistler World Cup. Great insight from @luca_shaw @henri_kiefer and @marine_cabirou on how they prepare for a week home away from home. @thegrimyhandshake squeezed out some great intel out of them and turned it into a story worth reading. I loved spending a day with the mechanics and really hearing the nitty gritty on bike setups. At heart, i too am a greasy nut.

It's been a fantastic 3 days of Hardline on Cypress. It has been an absolute treat seeing everyone's incredible expression of the event. Meeting peers and feeding off of each other has been the most rewarding part of it all. The trail crew put on a creation that us, creative types have been drinking from. What a treat to get so many incredible athletes doing what they do best. For the finals, I went with "weird". Thank you for the inspiration @dasmith @tombriggs @eyeroam @margusriga @svenmartinphoto , you guys are inspirational! by @blackbird_works

RedBull Hardline Cypress. The track is drying nicely for the seeding on Thursday. There is still mud to be found in the woods. It's a fine balance of speed and finesse. There were a ton of mechanicals on the hill today with flat tires and wheels blowing up. We are excited for the big Show tomorrow. Are you? by @blackbird_works

Redbull Hardline Practice went off on Wednesday. The rains made the course slick and hard to maintain speed on. Braking points changed and stopping between features got tough. Some slams and big wins were the name of the game. These incredible athletes rode.the hell out of the hill all day long. Lets see what they can do for seeding and finals next two days.

Oh Whistler! What a week of racing! From soaking practice days to sun-soaked peanut butter race day. There was everything but a hike a bike on this track!
@graceyhemstreet making us all cry at the finals with joy!
@jakobjewett with an incredible performance, @finniles with the unfortunate illness and @jacksongoldstone with just a little too much sauce. @johnathanhelly What the Hell-y!

Trying conditions for Friday practice for the @uci_mtbworldseries at the homestead. Whistler was being whistler and dished out a mad amount of moisture on the steep and gnarly course.
@blackbird_works is out on the course, getting photos and video this weekend.

We'll see how the Qualifications go today in better weather.

Stau tuned and check in on the website. by @blackbird_works

Some of the steepest terrain I've ever ridden. Nelson and Kaslo delivered continuously throughout the week. Can't wait to be back. Thank you builders!

New bike day is always sweet. This time, we are building on what I know and know well. I've been praising my Gen 6 Rallon for a few years now on how well it pedals, descends and makes me feel in control. While it did everything really well, the flat out performance in rougher and steeper trails were a little behind on some of the recent bikes.
The Gen 7 builds on all of that with a stiff and supple 170/180mm chassis and can even be run as a 200mm DH bike. The results are nothing short of impressive.
Currently the size medium Rallon is setup in
+.75° Headangle
Low Linear shock position
442mm stays.
The bars are 35mm rise Orbea creations. Wheels and tires are from @ethirteencomponents and all the fasteners are gold titanium bolts from @thetibolt out of North Vancouver. The saddle is of course @reformsaddle and is a dream perch for my 🍑. The grips are @peatysproducts Monarch Pro Knurl Thins.
So far everything is how it should be and I'm looking forward to testing various components and geo settings on this bike.
Stay tuned...
