The new chapter begins! by @blackchefseries

Two summers later, a recipe promise kept. 🍉

In 2024, I opened a Black Chef Series x Harlem Week dinner at the Victoria with watermelon carpaccio, cooking alongside chefs Lance Knowling, Chris Scott, Melvin Johnson and Herb Wilson.

Think ripe summer watermelon with elements of salt, acid, spice and texture all on one plate.

This week, I’m taking you back to that night and finally sharing the recipe.

Get the recipe + story in bio.

As founder of the @blackchefseries it is always a pleasure to cook with, and present such talented chefs. I’ve owned several restaurants and cooked for countless celebrities as well as a US president, but working with my peers is always the biggest gift. This year I get to do the dessert. My early career was in pastries so I’m really looking forward to it. Join us August 12 @rennewyorkharlemhotel for an unforgettable meal, and good fun. Tickets are selling fast so don’t wait!
