I sat down with Winston “Wilmo” Robinson for a powerful conversation on community, culture, history, leadership, and the experiences that shaped his journey. Wilmo shares stories, wisdom, and perspectives that deserve to be heard, offering insight into the past while challenging us to think about the future.
These are the conversations that help preserve our stories, celebrate our people, and document the voices that continue to impact Charlotte and beyond.

At @archive_clt flipping through @jcsuniversity 100th anniversary book and I’m inspired by all the things this historic college has done for the city of Charlotte and its black people. Here are a few pages we thought to share with you all. taken in Johnson C. Smith University by @blackfolkheritage

Honored to capture a special moment at the Tuesday Forum hosted by Winston Robinson ( @bigwilmo1 ) . Yesterday I had the chance to photograph Harvey B. Gantt and Dr. Charmaine McKissick-Melton as they shared their firsthand perspectives on the vision, challenges, and legacy of Soul City.

Hearing their reflections on the creation of Soul City — and the role of her father, Floyd McKissick, in bringing the project to life through leadership and funding — made the conversation especially powerful. The discussion connected past vision with present realities, offering insight into what community-building, opportunity, and progress look like across generations.

A great event made even more meaningful by being able to document it through the lens. - Nigel Malone by @blackfolkheritage
