i am my home ☀️💐 i’m learning that when you aren’t whole, you’ll create a false sense of home in the wrong places. instead of prioritizing looking within and building that foundation with yourself, you obsess and romanticize that sense of home and wholeness in someone else. i use to think i was whole… i mean i’m not broken but there’s definitely some missing pieces to my puzzle that i can’t wait to find and match up with the rest. its fun continuing to build this masterpiece of Taija. it’s a forever long journey of losing and finding me over and over again, but i love this journey & even more.. i love ME ❤️ & i hope your loving on you always. taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @blackgirlevolveblog

within the last few months “reflection” has become my very best friend. i’ve been taking inventory on how i truly feel inside & how others make me feel..
i wanted to take a trip for my birthday this year to just get away for a bit. be by myself (my sister was with me) & by the ocean. this was by far one of the best birthdays & it was one of the most simple. i’ve always been hyper fixated since i was younger about having a lot of people with me on my birthday to celebrate me! but over the years i never paid close attention to really who i was surrounding myself with, i just wanted to be celebrated. but finally i’ve realized the importance of thorough self celebration without a crowd or witness present. i ultimately just wanted to be alone. in my own space, in my own head, on my own time.. with taija without any pressure connected to it. i felt so light & free… i didn’t even wear makeup or have a lavish birthday outfit, i literally wore a bathing suit throughout the day & a white shirt & shorts at night. simplicity is becoming my new best friend 😭 i’m just rambling but all in all to say.. stepping into this season of reflection, uncovering, getting closer with God & actually being true & being comfortable with myself has been a blessing for me. happy birthday to me & more blessings for me 🥂⭐️🎂 taken in Miami by @blackgirlevolveblog
