Behind the scenes from United Aggression.

Shoutout to all the bands for trusting me with their vision. Proud of how each track came out and how distinct they all feel.

Proud to have worked on the debut @heavendeniedtx release. The band put a lot of work into this EP. The reception has been incredible, and this is only the beginning!

Check out @txkream debut EP “A Time to Be Alive” The band worked hard on this release and we all had a blast making it. Truly one of the chillest and kindest groups I’ve ever worked with. Each track brings something different, with their own unique style. by @blackhorizon.audio

Glad to be part of the @woollymammoth210 release! One of the newest hardcore bands I’ve worked with. They’re talented, dedicated, and on the come up. Can’t wait to see what they do next! by @blackhorizon.audio

Grateful to have been brought on to engineer the latest @innerselfhc release. The sessions were laidback, and I had a blast experimenting with gear I don’t normally use in the studio. Huge shoutout to Darrel @toilet_germ for absolutely crushing the mixing and mastering.

2. My first time using this 1985 100 Watt JCM 800 in a lower tuned HxC setting and it sounded glorious!

3. First time using a real bass amp in a recording the mighty 1980s Mesa Boogie 400+

4. In the room tone we got from a 1980s Randall RG100ES with a Mesa OS 4x12. This was mixed in with the JCM 800 for the final tones.

5. In the room tone we got from the JCM 800 and some boost pedals!

6-9. The band doing what they do best. by @blackhorizon.audio

Check out debut release from San Antonio’s own @svnblokhc From tracking to final mix, it was a great experience working with the band. I appreciate their twist on the HxC genre can’t wait to see it live at their first show.

2. Finally got to use my favorite amp a 100 Watt 1980 Marshall JMP 2203 on a release. We were able to get a nice crunchy sound with some help from a pedal or two.

3. My tried and true 1980s Marshall JCM 800 cab with G1265s. The pedals off to the side are the highly sought after Deadweald Duality DX Pedal made in Germany and the best noise gate in the game the @fortinamps Zuul+

7. Great in the room guitar sound

8. One of the loudest vocalists I’ve ever worked with @thenotorioussteves

9. Drum tracking with the full band by @blackhorizon.audio

Finally had a moment to highlight the EP I worked on with the mighty @mortatx It was an absolute blast collaborating with close friends on this record. We all grew a lot through the process and learned so much along the way. I’m thrilled to see everything Morta has accomplished in such a short time since the release. Can’t wait to craft more killer tones with them in the near future!!

2. Mesa Boogie Mark III Blue Stripe used exclusively on all guitar tracks without a boost pedal.

3. Mesa Boogie Strategy 500 power amp which I used in conjunction with the Mark III to sculpt the tone.

4. Solo for the song Omen with more delay and increased level

5. Review on the EP from @cvltnation by @blackhorizon.audio

The @nemesishc release is finally here! This is one of the first releases I’ve worked on that is heavily inspired by Leeway and Best Wishes era CroMags. I know this one is going to keep the band busy!

2. Engl Powerball II, which was exclusively used for guitar on the EP alongside my tried and true early 80s Marshall cab

3. Jake crushing the vocals during tracking, really one of the best vocalists I’ve worked with! by @blackhorizon.audio

Happy to have worked on the @l.o.d.tx release! This was one of my first experiences working with a more traditional hardcore band, and I learned a lot about how to approach the style. Excited to see where the band goes from here! by @blackhorizon.audio

2024 was a killer year in the studio. Grateful to have worked on so many amazing projects and proud to see the progress every band has made. Appreciate everyone who trusted me to help bring their music to life.

Looking forward to what 2025 brings.
