🗣️ BLACK MEN T.A.L.K. — October 22

What did we inherit that was never spoken about?

This month’s conversation, “Bloodline, Burden, & Becoming,” will explore how history, generational trauma, survival, family patterns, masculinity, and culture continue to shape Black men today.

Some things were passed down to help us survive. But the question is: Do they still serve us?

This isn’t about blame. It’s about understanding what we carry and deciding what we want to keep, what we need to challenge, and what we’re ready to change.

Come ready to TALK.
Truth. Accountability. Listening. Kinship.

📅 October 22, 2026
⏰ 6:30–9:00 PM
📍 4631 Delmar Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108

Black men deserve spaces where we can be open, vulnerable, challenged, supported, and heard.

Tag a brother who needs to be in the room. ✊🏾

This month’s Black Men T.A.L.K. was powerful. We shared an honest, meaningful discussion about “Expectations: The Weight We Carry” making space to listen, reflect, and speak openly about the pressures men carry every day.

Grateful to every man who showed up, shared his perspective, and helped make the conversation meaningful. There’s strength in being present for one another and creating space where we can talk, learn, and grow together.

Truth. Accountability. Listening. Kinship. That’s Black Men T.A.L.K. 🖤

What a powerful afternoon of storytelling, connection, and community!

Our sixth Voices in Tandem brought together an incredible group of authors who shared their experiences, creativity, and wisdom with honesty and purpose. Every story reminded us why spaces that amplify Black voices and celebrate diverse perspectives are so important.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our featured authors for trusting Black Men Read with their stories, our audience for showing up and engaging in the conversation, and the St. Louis Public Library for helping us create this meaningful experience.

I had an amazing event Saturday with @blackmenreadstl at the library! I loved being with other local black authors in my community talking about our individual books, writing processes, and being in community together. Getting to meet Precious, Kevin, Emma, and Stephen and hear about their books and all they do was incredible! Thank you to Keyon and the Black Men Read organization for allowing me to be a part of the event!

Please go to my Linktree to find links to everyone’s books under the “Books by friends” collection!
