NEW YORK FASHION WEEK A.M. — BEYOND THE RUNWAY. 🗽✨

The fittings. The beauty. The final touches. The backstage rush. The step & repeat. The lights. The runway.

Every look that reaches the runway has a story behind it — and this is ours.

At SOMOS Backstage & Beauty House, we believe the magic of Fashion Week lives in every detail and, most importantly, in the people who bring the vision to life.

From backstage to the spotlight, this is where creativity, collaboration and talent become one.

WE ARE THE ARTISTS.
WE ARE THE EXPERIENCE.
SOMOS BACKSTAGE. ✨

WHEN JAZZ MEETS JAPANESE COUTURE. 🎶🇯🇵

Grammy Award winning American jazz vocalist, pianist, composer, and arranger Nicole Zuraitis makes a rather fabulous statement in Tokyo's @cottonclubjapan wearing one of Yumi Katsura’s most iconic creations.

Selected at our Yumi Katsura flagship salon in Tokyo and styled by our extraordinary team of designers and stylists, Nicole wears a legendary Yumi Katsura Kimono featuring the iconic crane, a dramatic expression of Japanese artistry, symbolism and couture craftsmanship.

The crane holds a particularly cherished place in Japanese culture, symbolizing longevity, good fortune, loyalty, and grace. Against striking black and vermilion red, the soaring cranes turn this extraordinary piece into wearable art.

And the woman wearing it is every bit as extraordinary.

Nicole won the 2024 Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for How Love Begins, following a 2019 nomination, and has continued to earn Grammy recognition for her remarkable artistry.

From the concert stage to Tokyo couture, this is what happens when two worlds of artistry find the perfect harmony.

Nicole Zuraitis. Yumi Katsura. Tokyo.
Consider this our kind of jazz. ✨

Have you ever reached the point where you’ve given all you can give?

“All I Can Say” was born from the realization that love alone isn’t always enough to sustain a relationship. Sometimes growth requires us to make difficult choices, honor our truth, and find the courage to walk away from what no longer supports who we’re becoming.

This song is about acceptance. It’s about recognizing that the answers we’ve been searching for aren’t outside of us—they’ve been within us all along.

✨ Sometimes choosing yourself is the most loving thing you can do.

If you’ve ever had to let go, trust yourself, or begin again, this song is for you.
June 19th it’s all yours.

With Love,
Lizzie
