2️⃣ DAYS! ONE AMAZING 8️⃣0️⃣’s THROWBACK!!

The first ever @blackpool80sweekender and what a weekend it was!

Friday & Saturday at the incredible @wgbpl, surrounded by the music that was the soundtrack to our younger years.

VIP balcony seats in the magnificent Empress Ballroom, an 80s cocktail, private bar, priority access and the best bit, being able to head down onto the floor and get right up close to the stage when we wanted to!

Friday night brought Kim Wilde headlining, plus Nik Kershaw and Katrina.

Then Saturday, ABC headlining, with Go West, Johnny Hates Jazz, Toyah, The Christians and Hue & Cry.

Some of these artists I’d never seen live before, despite having listened to their music for decades. That’s what I loved most about this weekend. All those songs you remember from being younger, suddenly being played live in front of you.

Go West...I’ve seen them before many times, but Peter Cox is still my absolute favourite, so there was no way I was staying on the balcony for that set! Straight down onto the floor and as close to the stage as we could get!

Before the Saturday schedule started, we walked down to the seafront and along the North Pier in the sunshine, although Blackpool clearly decided to add its own special effects with the wind! 💨

Of course, no Blackpool trip would be complete without a go on the 2p machines and a roll on the Donkey Derby 🐎

We stayed at the recently opened @hiblackpool, just a few minutes’ walk from the Winter Gardens. Perfect location, great food, and even a Starbucks ☕

Two days of music 🎶 memories, nostalgia, and laughter. The first Blackpool 80s Weekender definitely won’t be the last for us.

See you in September 2027! 🎶🎸
