Still not over The Function Mini Ball. 🤩 This reel does not do the night justice! As always, I can rely on my AL KiKi family to show up and show out. While also watching new faces step into the space and try ballroom for the first time, meant everything. I hope HSV continues to grow the space for the queer community to be loud, and unapologetically themselves. 🥺 Thank you to everyone who walked, cheered, volunteered, and poured into making this night so special. Until the next one… 💫🏳️‍🌈 by @blackqueercollectivehsv
🎉 THANK YOU FOR AN INCREDIBLE GATHERING WEEKEND! 🎉 What a weekend! While things didn’t go exactly as planned, a venue mix-up impacting The Assembly Exchange and the unfortunate cancellation of the Parkside Kickback. The love, energy, and support from our community never wavered. Y’all showed up, showed out, and turned The Function into an unforgettable celebration of Black queer joy, connection, and community. 🖤✨ We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our amazing partners, The Academia Society and Men of D.I.S.T.I.N.C., whose support helped make this weekend possible. Thank you to every attendee, performer, vendor, and supporter who poured into this experience. A special shoutout to everyone who traveled near and far to celebrate with us. We don’t take your time, energy, or commitment for granted. 💫 And don’t worry—we know there are still conversations that need to be had! The Assembly Exchange may not have happened this weekend, but we are committed to creating that space. We will be bringing The Assembly Exchange back at a later date because the discussions, connections, and community-building opportunities it was designed to foster are too important to leave on the table. Stay tuned for more details. 🗣️✨ As we continue to build spaces that center and celebrate the Black Queer Community, we want to hear from YOU! Drop a comment below and let us know: 👇 What feedback do you have for us? 👇 What events, programs, or experiences would you like to see us create next? Your voices help shape the future of our community, and we’re committed to learning, growing, and doing even better for you. Thank you for rocking with us through the highs, the hiccups, and everything in between. The Gathering Weekend may be over, but this is just the beginning. 🖤🏳️‍🌈✨ #TheGatheringWeekend #BlackQueerCollective #BlackQueerJoy #CommunityMatters #HuntsvillePride BlackLGBTQ GatherGrowThrive SeeYouNextTime by @blackqueercollectivehsv
🚨 Important Update 🚨 Due to an unexpected health concern within our team, today’s Parkside Kickback has been canceled. We sincerely apologize for the short notice. As a small team, we must prioritize the health and well-being of those who make these events possible. Thank you for your understanding and support. We look forward to rescheduling and gathering with you all again soon. ✊🏾🏳️‍🌈 – Black Queer Collective by @blackqueercollectivehsv

Pride Month is here, and at The Black Queer Collective, we celebrate more than a moment, we celebrate a movement. We honor the Black queer pioneers who paved the way, the voices still fighting for equity and visibility, and the joy that continues to sustain our community. This month and every month, we remain committed to creating spaces rooted in fellowship, culture, advocacy, and love. As we celebrate Pride, we’re also excited to gather in community for The Gathering Weekend in celebration of Juneteenth, a time to honor Black freedom, resilience, culture, and those who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies. Together, we continue creating spaces where Black queer voices are uplifted, connected, and empowered. Happy Pride Month to our Black LGBTQIA+ family and allies. We see you, we celebrate you, and we’re proud to stand with you. #HappyPrideMonth #BlackQueerCollective #BlackPride #BlackLGBTQ #QueerJoy Juneteenth TheGatheringWeekend CommunityAndCulture BlackQueerExcellence by @blackqueercollectivehsv
