Hey friends, I’ve been away from social media for a while, and I apologize for falling out of touch. Despite this, I’ve thought of many of you often. Your connections and art have kept me going during tough times.

The past months have been especially challenging. Chris (@saint_elisabeth_ ) and I have been living with a friend for over a year, but our last day here is May 31st. We’ve applied for countless affordable/subsidized housing options across the US, but waitlists are long. We will be homeless by the end of May unless we find a vehicle to live in, until affordable housing opens up.

Due to these struggles and ongoing health issues, we’ll be releasing our final batch of music on @blacksmith_noise Records this Bandcamp Friday. It looks like we could lose our computer, which would mean no longer being able to maintain the label or our own music making. Therefore my final releases will also be dropping the same day or throughout May.

Checking in with you all to let you know I’m alive - not intentionally ignoring you. n fact my heart is full because of all everyone has already done for us 🖤 I’m not sure how or when I can return to more regular communication again.

This was really difficult for me to make. Full of nerves and awkward smiling, trying to keep from tearing up. All of it was off the top of my head so I apologize for any rambling.

Aubade is the current primary project of Angel B., a multimedia artist from North Carolina specializing in digital collage and harsh noise.

“Aubade is intended to be the project most closely related to my visual art, following many of the same rules and habits I often find myself relying on when working on a new piece. Aubade is made up of various sources, including sampled music and video, analog and digital noise sessions, and personally-curated field recordings. These various sessions are laid out on a timeline, trimmed, cut up, and mangled in various ways, before being rearranged together into a larger piece, often using a mixture of random selection and feeling-based intuition to decide the order and layering of the various sources.”

This album is dedicated to the beginning of the industrial era. A time when people and machines were just starting to get along together. The different lives of many people were very similar threads that are woven into the Web of Industrial. nothingdreamer and Salzig Noise conveyed this era with slow harsh textures. The R channel (Salzig Noise) reflects people’s daily lives, and the L channel (nothingdreamer) reflects machines’ daily works.

The sounds, a distant memory of someone else
This magnetic message was nearly forgotten
Another room hidden inside nowhere

A collection of meditative ambient loops blending light and dark thoughts, embodied with an inspired take on minimalism/signalwave/broken transmission motifs.

The name Blue Circles and it’s cover art inspired by a vague and incorrect memory of an arcade carpet pattern from ‘89 and the technical act that most tracks were recorded using a Tascam 414, and all tracks were recorded onto tape with a Tascam Porta 2 as part of the mastering process.

dead garage is the cornerstone project of Mitch Lewis (MCL, sunbeam sleep, channel 42) since 1999. Multimedia hack jack of all trades. Through all the starts and stops, still learning it broke, badly, and with the best intentions.

CANTICLES FOR THE BLACKSMITH SAINTS

Not a compilation so much as a gathering of signals, a constellation soldered in the dark.

This release will be a tribute & a fundraiser for Saint Elisabeth & Séraphitüs-Séraphîta — two vital forces in the modern experimental underground. Individually, their discographies stretch like haunted cartographies; together, as BLACKSMITH, they have forged five albums of dense, abstract, textural and fascinating noise

They are also the minds behind BLACKSMITH NOISE RECORDS, a netlabel that has quietly become a sanctuary for boundary-dissolving sound — hosting artists such as Substak, The Golden Spiral, Guizhou Drainer, David Dellacroce, NIGHT PORTER, Stagn(ant), UgUrGkuliktavikt/Exsomnus, the microphone is 3 electric guitars, Russell’s Teapot, Iam Mortuo, RDKPL and many more.

Their compilation, WITH LOVE AND NOISE: the mima kass benefit collection, stood as a monumental act of care and curation — a vast, living document of the experimental noise underground, assembled to support Daniel Lund in a time of need.

Now, the current bends back toward them.

Both artists are facing serious financial and health hardships, and are trying to secure a new place to live in increasingly hostile conditions. This compilation is a small but collective gesture — a way to channel sound into support.
