What do you want?

Liberation means a complete change of how we relate to each other.

No mayors. No police. No states. No patriarchs.

It’s beyond Mamdani.

We need community defense.

Not more non-profits.

We need to organize formally and informally.

Build other worlds NOW.

At home, At work, In our families, our communities our friend groups.

We can’t let legality stop us.

We have a right to violence.

Build autonomous infrastructures of care and resistance.

Engage in conflict and repair.

Change ourselves so that we may change the world.

Our lives depend on it.

Our children’s lives depend on it.

The Earth will swallow us whole

Unless we choose to defend it.

To build right relationship to her and all her children.

A 24-year-old Chicago man is facing murder charges after prosecutors say he killed a woman inside her West Side apartment last week.

Deandre Bell is accused in the death of 31-year-old Davonta Curtis in the 3100 block of West Madison Street. He is charged with first-degree murder and possession of a stolen vehicle.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, Curtis — a transgender woman — died from multiple blunt force injuries.

Prosecutors say Bell and Curtis had an on-and-off relationship. Surveillance footage shows the two returning to her apartment the night of April 5, but only Bell was seen leaving around 1 a.m. the next morning.

Family members became concerned after not hearing from Curtis. On April 8, her sister went to the apartment and discovered her body. Curtis’ car and keys were missing, and police later found Bell driving the vehicle.

Authorities say Bell admitted to the killing after being taken into custody. Investigators also recovered a hammer with suspected blood inside his backpack, along with phone searches related to committing the crime.

Black Like That! (BLT!) is the newest monthly event series from Black Trans Mutual Aid Group (BTMA) that seeks to co-create and build new worlds free from racism, transphobia, capitalism, colonialism, and imperialism in the here and now.

We invite all folks of majority African descent, whether New Afrikan, Afro-indigenous, Afro-Caribbean, or otherwise, to engage in our community discussions, political education, resource redistribution, food and clothing drives, workshops, skill trades, ancestral rituals, performance art, kikis, and parties.

Non-Black Comrades are welcome to VOLUNTEER - please dm us and sign up first tho!
