HEART OF THE BEAST l Water Department - Night Dive

Another wee glimpse into the diving & crane operations needed to anchoring down the plane set piece.
Quite the night of things not going to plan but it’s all part of the game.

This side of making films most people never see.

EVIL DEAD – BURN: POOL BLACKOUT

Another project we got stuck into assisting @filmfx166.

One of the key components was completely blacking out West Wave deep pool.

3 divers + a free diver hauling it underwater all day.

Sounds simple… it wasn’t.

29 tanks burnt through in one day between a 3-man dive team should give you an idea of the work involved.

A lot goes on underwater that never makes the screen.

More to follow ✊🏽

HEART OF THE BEAST | Water Department - Crashed Plane Install

A wee snippet of the major water operations for a few seconds on screen, massive amount of work behind it.

Full aircraft set. Heavy crane operations. Rigging and positioning. Divers underneath. Water safety. Multiple resets. Multiple departments all working around each other to put the plane exactly where it needed to be.

This is the side of film most people don’t see.

@quinnakl2002 our main contruction diver has done a few with us, Instructors @floatsalot & @briana.hnz getting taste of what we get up to, @kauripalmer getting thrashed as our dummy.

Deep Water, That broken fuselage was sitting on 2 massive air/water ballasts weighing approx 25T, good taste of commercial diving in film having to sit under it shifting & laying it down on the set floor.

Few heavy hitter stunt crew involved in this project, @alpop.stunts @ashleeanafidow @ttouchstunts @fitzy315 @bartonjulian and a few others..

NZ Stunt School U/W Performer Training - 2018

Assisted the school with one of their 1st U/W concepts of performer air supply at depth to trainees 🙌🏽

drilling into their heads the dangers of pulmonary barotrauma even at 5m, shit will kill yo ass! 😆

I will create something similar but more extreme involving amphibious stress training and few other ideas of getting performers use to the idea of not panicking & doing their work at depth on air. 🤿

Think Jess and Shaney the only 1z still in the game however smashing out kids these days mostly..😎

Awesome weekend of it.

CHIEF OF WAR! | WHERE IT ALL STARTED!

Thanks to Jake Dewitt for the last minute water requests needed for Jason's character to hustle the boys @bartonjulian AKA "10 bottleaday" and @its.throb & build some platforms for @prideofgypsies and his double @kim_fardy practising cray diving.

@fitzy315 @ttouchstunts @jaredmeehan showing their 20 years experience doing SFX making waves.

@keifer_moana near drowning..😆

Even got @ohm_chaiyakhun on to lend a hand..

but bouncing between stunt performing, diving, horse riding & tree climbing on this 1 job it was definitely a highlight to be involved with.

Cheers @libtechnine 🙌🏽
