I was at a screening tonight at CAA-the first time I've ever been in that building built on the footprint where I saw so many great stage shows in the 70s, and across the road from a virtual second home in that decade-the Century Plaza Hotel. We'd eat dinner there at least once a week for ages(advertising account comp). I loved that place-the backyard of which looked over the Fox lot, scene of shenanigans with @lararossignolfoto . ❤️ taken in CAA Creative Artists Agency by @blackwingjen

Here's the other one. I'd always coveted the work of James Montgomery Flagg from this period where he dashed off charcoal portraits-he is just too much(and boy was he in every aspect, the old reprobate). Sorry for the cutoff-I've posted this before I think, but here it is in closeup before it goes under glass. What a master! #jamesmontgomeryflagg by @blackwingjen

Here's a few examples of the aforementioned Seguso's work. #armandseguso by @blackwingjen

Finally took a couple of things in to be framed last week; one a gift from @fishhpc to me-and this one was from me to him: an Armand Seguso watercolor circa 1932. Seguso emigrated to Hollywood from Italy and painted a lot of film poster art, including MGM, notably GWTW. #armandseguso by @blackwingjen

I've seen them here at dusk but this was 10am! It's the perfect fate for flowers left with love, don't you think? 🦌🌹 taken in Forest Lawn Mortuary by @blackwingjen

We made a return trip to the Lucas Museum last week and also dropped in at the venerable Natural History Museum across the way. This time I took only these photos at the Lucas; I spent a good deal of time just sitting in a room dedicated to Wyeth, NC. But here are two of my first favorite illustrators, Neill and Shepard. Oh and there's Muybridge out there in the garden. taken in Exposition Park by @blackwingjen
