This eBook is for anyone who dreams of feeding the people they cherish: the ones who are sick, tired, needing a break, or far away in circumstances we can’t yet reach.

It is also an effort to create a dependable source of income for our dear friend Jehad Al-Farra and his beloved family in Gaza.

100% of your donations support both Jehad's (@jehadalfara) daily needs as a recent evacuee and now graduate student in Dublin, and 20+ family members—half of whom are children trying to survive g3n•ciď3.

Najwa is the mother of two boys, Ahmed (13) and Abdullah (12). Najwa also cares for her disabled sister and elderly parents. Before the genocide, Najwa's vocal cords were damaged after a medical error.

She hasn't been able to speak for over 2 years. Najwa needs to raise money for treatment, ideally in Egypt.

✅ Pick Chuffed
🫱🏼 Give once or monthly (monthly is a miracle)
🩷 Much love and thanks to you

This happened during the removal of her thyroid and parathyroid glands. Despite treatment, Najwa still has side effects.

"I am always tired."

"I need many tests to reassure me that my body can function. I suffer from spasms. I need a bone density test due to the severe pain."

They lied to you.

They told you Gaz@ was just a headline.
Just numbers displayed on screens, then forgotten.

But Gaz@ is not a passing story.

Gaz@ is a mother waiting for her son to return after he left searching for food and water.

It is the student whose university turned into rubble, who now searches for scholarships instead of lecture halls, carrying a dream that survived even when the place where it was built was destroyed.

It is the journalist who writes between the sounds of airstrikes.

It is the child who no longer asks, “When will the war end?”
But instead asks, “Will tonight be quieter than yesterday?”

They lied to you when they reduced people to numbers.
When they called forced displacement an “evacuation.”
When they called hunger a “shortage.”
When they called survival “living.”

No one told you that there are people who wake up every morning not to plan their day…
but to make sure their loved ones are still alive.

Put this on hold at my library and picked it up yesterday. It's described as an "urgent reappraisal of the concept of exile, migration and home, with a message of hope and compassion for anyone who feels alienated by an ever-more monstrous world." (SOURCE: @womensprize)

Shortlisted for the 2026 Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction, the author said, "I discuss how women’s lived knowledge of care and support will serve as humanity’s moral compass in this new age of cruelty. After all, for so long we have been the ultimate strangers in the world, always having to live in survival mode while keeping our dignity and humanity intact. To have been shortlisted in a language that I only started writing in ten years ago, after having to leave my mother tongue behind in Turkey, also brings me great happiness."

— Ece Temelkuran

🌿•••••🌿•••••🌿

I can't remember if @ece.temelkuran said this in an interview I watched or someone else did, but I haven't stopped thinking about home as a physical structure and instead existing in the friendships and community we make.

Especially as homes no longer exist in G@za and as people are displaced or evacuated knowing they can't return anytime soon, what does home mean now. A friend evacuated last year and we talk about how emotionally devastating it is to be out while your family remains "at home" in constant danger. He can't return anytime soon, so home will have to be something else. More conceptual or philosophical, existing in friendships.

I want to leave, too, and live my dream retirement in Italy or France. Home will no longer be here. But, the past two years have expanded home and community for me from the deep friendships created from direct aid volunteer work with @pal_collective and G@zans who now feel like extended family of sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews. These are some of the most significant friendships I've ever had. Home is starting to exist all over the world, so until I expatriate, home is texts, voice messages, and video chats that always include, "just come here as soon as you can." I have two places I could call home whenever I decide to go. Maybe more.

One of the biggest fears for many in GAZA and any country undergoing food shortages is poor health because of a lack of adequate nutrition. I've been thinking about this and want to find a way to help people get as close to their daily nutritional needs as possible. This formula is a start. Please share it far and wide. by @blahdevivre

Our featured pals this week are three orphans. On July 4, 2025, a missile struck their family’s tent, taking the lives of their mother Amani and brother Hamza. Baraa (15), Tulin (9), and Talin (3) survived. Their father disappeared early in the conflict and is presumed gone. All three kids are full of painful shrapnel which also causes infections.

"I watched my mother and brother pass in front of me and I couldn't do anything,” says Baraa.

Overwhelmed and traumatized, Baraa had just turned 14 when he assumed total responsibility for himself and his sisters. Without any income, he relies entirely on generosity of strangers around the world, many of whom are parents with children his own age who cannot fathom their own son or daughter with adult responsibilities in general, much less in an active conflict zone.

"The day my mother and brother were taken from us was one of the hardest and most nightmare-inducing days of my life that I haven't woken up from yet."

Baraa uses the income to feed and supply his family with medicine, diapers, clothing, shoes, hygiene products, surgery to remove shrapnel when possible, and various daily essentials. Their tent and nearly all of their belongings were destroyed in the 2025 fall and winter flooding, and they had to start over.

"I miss my mother’s tenderness and care for me and my siblings. My mother and brother left and never returned, and I am left alone now," Baraa texted. "There is no food, no drink, no affection, and no life without them. My sisters and I suffer, but we thank God for everything. I hope to grow up and be a support to my sisters."

Talin was still nursing when tragedy struck. She’s spent the past year wandering in search of her mother. Tulin doesn't understand why her mother won't come home, and Baraa tries to make his sisters laugh. Then, once his sisters fall asleep, he’s consumed with worry about their future.

Your assistance will go directly to Baraa, Tulin, and Talin. Here's how to find them:
