Sights and sounds from a week at Mardi Gras #KOT

Founded in 1947, the Krewe of Thoth sought to bring Mardi Gras to individuals and communities that could not attend Carnival. Today, that mission still lives on. Now, with the largest membership yet of 2,242 incredible men, Thoth ensures the longest parade route (6.3 miles) in Carnival starting in uptown to pass directly in front of 14 children’s hospitals, retirement homes, and late life care facilities and ending the parade in down town. Thoth humbly accepts the name synonymous with the Krewe: “The Krewe of Shut-ins”.

Since its founding, Thoth has been designated as one of the only six Super Krewes and proudly celebrates Thoth Sunday with the city of New Orleans, making sure to throw until our arms fall off.

The past three years have been filled with memories, people, and experiences that I wouldn’t trade for the world. I cannot wait to continue the special mission, history, and culture of Thoth. The Krewe is already anxious to throw you something on Thoth Sunday, March 2nd, 2025.
