This week really did change my life. I learned about new people, how to be a leader, and about who i am as one. It’s impossible to sum up the whole week in just a short caption, but i can say a little. I made some of my best friends in just 6 days. They laughed, cried, cheered, and learned with me everyday. I am forever changed for the better all because of these 12 people.

Obviously, this week i grew as a leader. I will say, I grew much more than i anticipated. I learned that leadership comes in more forms than you can count. Leadership means compassion, openness, and love. Leadership shows up in places you wouldn’t expect— even if you’re in the background.

@trudi_herrholtz gets a very special mention. She was in my section, group, and was my roommate. We were instantly friends, and only got closer as the week went on. She made me feel loved and heard beyond measure! I am forever grateful for her friendship.

RAD 2026 was one for the books!

This camp has changed me in so many ways! Seeing the joy these kids have makes my problems seem so small. They love and laugh and play so hard— it’s life changing to see. This is my favorite week of the year every time. Whether it was on the dock in 100 degree heat or doing makeup for the dance they were smiling and laughing. There were tears all across the cabins when Friday came and it was time to go home. I’ll forever continue to do this and love on these kids!

This year i was so blessed to have the best camper! Arlie is the funniest, kindest, most thoughtful little girl I’ve ever met. In every situation she was thinking of someone else or helping another camper. She never complained and was ready to participate in every activity. I couldn’t have asked for a better girl!
