-long tdov post incoming, tldr: support trans art-

i haven’t done a trans day of visibility post since my they/them mohawk era because frankly i’d like to be slightly less visible with the surveillance state so hyper focused on trans folks rn.

but if we’re going to be so scrutinized i’d like to center that visibility on trans art, on the stories trans people are telling ourselves instead of being told about us.

im so grateful for @joywholived where im acting and producing in trans mom v family court by @rejyna.usa and acting in holy mother by @fifidosch both of these artists have been so generous to trust me with their stories

and mark your calendars, im making a movie! @thestrangerkind are making a film about a trans woman (@sammollier) who has to go on a family “boys hike” to receive her inheritance. this is a really personal story to me and i can’t wait for yall to see it. i’ll be posting more updates as it gets closer so stay tuned! by @blaire.battle

The first part of Song of the Rainbow Sea is now up on Webtoon! I’m so excited to share this first peek into this world we’ve spent so long creating.

Depending on how you count it, this project has been the result of a year of hard work, five years, or four lifetimes. Please give it a read, give it a like, and follow @thestrangerkind for updates as we continue to roll out the first chapter throughout the month of May.

With the help of our incredible community of supporters and followers, Uphill Both Ways has been FULLY FUNDED!

Y’all went above and beyond in our final few days and helped us make just over 12k, 127% of our initial goal!

In our first week Uphill Both Ways has already raised over 70% of our goal! Thank you to everyone who has shared, donated, and followed the campaign so that we can continue to make independent queer art!

Laser’s advice has been invaluable in helping to bring trans stories directly to the people who want to see them. On May 6, the Seed and Spark campaign for Uphill Both Ways goes live, the short film I’ve been working on for the past year.

This film is deeply personal to me, inspired by my own relationship to masculinity, family, grief, and the way my trans identity has changed the way I interact with all of those things.

Witness Trans Mom vs. Family Court in an all-trans cast ensemble reading on April 12 at @hudsontheatres as part of @joywholived festival. Tix link in bio. Streaming tix are sliding scale and good for day of and for two weeks following the show.

We're workshopping this reworking of my solo play that won awards at @hollywoodfringe in June.
