Golden Girl Captain✨Name: Blair Saltzman✨Classification: Senior✨Year on team: 4th✨Hometown: Kaplan, Louisiana✨Major/Minor: Sport Administration with a concentration in Sport Commerce and a minor in Business✨Future Plans: In the future I hope to be an event manager/marketer. I also hope to continue my love for dance by becoming a dance team coach!✨What does being a leader on this team mean to you?Leading this group of insanely talented women is the biggest honor!! I’m so lucky to have a team that lifts me up and supports me every step of the way. I truly could not be in the position I am without them! If you would have told little freshman year Blair that she would be captain one day she wouldn’t believe you. Tiger Band and Golden Girls have taught me so many valuable lessons during my four years that I will carry close to me throughout my leadership. LIFE UPDATE!!! 🥹🥹I’m so incredibly blessed and honored to be the new Head Coach of Vermilion Catholic’s Dance Team! 🦅❤️I brought my girls to camp in June, and we were named 1st Place in DII Home Routine! It was such a surreal moment that I’ll never forget. These girls have worked so hard all summer, and hearing our name called for first was a reminder that God led me here for a reason.These eight talented, funny, caring, hardworking, and beautiful girls are my “why.” Watching them grow and seeing their hard work pay off has already been one of the biggest blessings. I love this team so much, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for us.Feeling so grateful for this opportunity and this title. God is so good. 🤍 by @blairsaltzmann

The people who made the place! ✨I could write a book about everything @lsugoldengirls has given me, but the greatest gift has been the friendships I made while on this team. These girls have truly been by my side through it all!!!When I was chosen as captain, I was nervous about taking on such a big responsibility. But any nerves I had quickly disappeared because of the incredible group of girls around me. They made sure I never missed a beat, hyped up every piece of choreography, kept me grounded, and were always there to listen when I needed them most. I truly couldn’t have done it without them. I feel so blessed to have shared my senior season with this group. Thank you @blairguillaume for bringing together such an amazing team of girls to experience this once in a lifetime journey with. And thank you for taking a shot on little 17 year old Blair. I will carry everything you’ve taught me forever. 🥹To every girl I’ve shared this team with over the last four years: you will always hold such a special place in my heart. What a blessing it has been to carry on this tradition alongside such talented, supportive, and unforgettable people. Lastly to the current GGs… soak up every second. I wish I could hug the 17 year old girl who one day decided that LSU would be the place she’d call home for the next four years. Because she said yes to LSU I:1. Danced for my dream team and loved every minute!!!! 2. Grew as a dancer/leader/friend 3. Met soooo many new friends 4. Now have friends that are considered family 5. Learned independence 6. Learned how to cook7. Learned so much about the sport industry 8. Learned how to master cram studying lol9. Learned how to make a long distance relationship work 10. Had one too many fun nights with my girls11. Got to live with the best roommates ever 12. Grew in my faith 13. Traveled to really cool places 14. Fell in love with this university15. Became the kind of woman my younger self looked up to My college experience was amazing in every way. If I could go back, I wouldn’t change a single thing. A week ago today I went through one of the scariest moments of my life. On April 10th I came visit my parents at home and decided to go for a run. I had just purchased the new AirPod 4s and was so excited to try them out on a run. We live down a very country back road. There’s probably 20 cars that pass in one day so I always feel safe running in our area. I got to 1.27 of a mile when I felt nothing but pain and fear. A pitbull had attacked me from behind. I didn’t see him coming and I didn’t hear him coming (the noise cancellation on these new AirPods is legit). I truly believe that God had his hand on the situation because it is uncommon for dogs to stop attacking once they have you, but luckily a girl came and was able to get the dog off of me. I’ve thanked Him everyday since that I’m alive and able to walk. I was sent to the hospital where I had to get multiple stitches to close the gaping wound I had in my butt (I know what a horrible place). I am very grateful for the medical team that took care of me and reassured me the entire time that I would be okay even if it was scary. Since then I’ve been able to pause and reflect a lot. I’ve had a VILLAGE of people who have shown so much love, support, concern, and compassion. It has made me feel so loved and I cannot express my gratitude enough to those who checked in. My besties came to surprise me and I was almost brought to tears. I needed them more than they knew. @sydney_claire_t came wash my hair for me. Such a small act of kindness that I so desperately needed. @lani.frederick did an at home facial for me to relax me in a time of stress. @hricks_57 and his family have been the best at bringing me smiles on such hard days. My mom has been such a rock for me and is truly the best!! She has taken care of me around the clock and I don’t know what I would do without her. Me and dad have been working on puzzles lol.
