Made a few adjustments to the mix from the post before. See if you dig.

This song just has the best groove and vibe. Was trying to lock in while feeling loose.

Did you know on the album version of this song, “Clarity” by John Mayer, there are two drummers’ grooves layered on top of each other? Can you guess who?

The two drummers were @questlove and @mattchamberlaindrumz. Quest laid down the primary groove which was sampled, edited and then looped. Matt was called in to play on top of that to add some life with fills and his touch. The combo of the two of them is what you are hearing on the record. Sooo killen!! Now go back and listen to the track to see if you can catch it. Makes it even cooler now knowing that.

Anywho hope y’all enjoy!

@johnmayer hit me up if you need a drummer 😉

If anyone needs drums on there demos, records or projects feel free to hit me up!

Another fun fact about @stewart_copeland and @thepolicebandofficial is that they would cut these records with the songs fresh only having played them a few times or none at all and hearing it on the spot then working through it. @stewart_copeland talks about it on the @drumeoofficial interview on @youtube. He hated that he played so many crashes toward the end of this song. Look it up, fun interview.
Every drummer and musician is always like “o man I wish I played that differently” once they hear the track back. There’s a magic though in that, when you are playing with a fresh song, where you are playing from raw reaction and feeling without overthinking about the song too much. That’s what Copeland and @thepolicebandofficial had.

Hope y’all enjoy 🤘

If anyone needs drums for their songs or drummer for gigs hit me up! 🤙

Did you know that this drums part was recorded in different takes? @stewart_copeland is not only just an amazing drummer but he’s an incredible composer as well! From what I know this ride bell and even the TOMS were recorded separately!!! So trying to get the exact groove without overdubbing is tough but you get the idea.
@stewart_copeland’s raw grit and edge is unmatched! He’s the man. 🤘. Hope you enjoy.
If anyone needs drums on their projects or anyone needs a drummer for gigs or touring hit me up 🤙.

Another day = another chance to improve.

This isn’t just about playing a bunch of notes. It’s about keeping the facility and dexterity in the hands while keeping the body relaxed. Not gonna lie it’s also a ton of fun to do but if you don’t practice it, it does slip from your fingers. Are a bunch of notes going to get you a gig and more work….maybe…most likely not. So focus more on groove and feel before anything.
