A gift given with an expectation of a gift in return is no gift at all. I bake my neighbors cookies for the holidays every year and this year I received a few in return while on vacation - some truffles for me, some milkbones and tuffy toys for "the kids" but what got me was the card.

A gesture as simple as baked goods has started to bring our neighborhood closer. I've met a few new families and said hello to a few that have been around for some time. I have only seen 'Grandma Claus' tending to her garden a time or two but she was always very kind and patient with Baillys barking as if she were an intruder in her own back yard.

It's surely no Flamingo group here in Colorado but I'm quite content :] #colorado #beneighborly #sorryforthediabetes by @blaix_
