With the task of Racing against time, I’ve been writing loads of music recently. In between late nights, & trips to Melbourne to write, I’ve neglected the social media front.

so I thought to give yall an update.

I’ve got way too much music, a great problem to have, around 20 tracks loaded to play or so. time to build the sets for the next run of touring.

As a gamer, I used to spend hours on machines, now only realizing that my favorite game is sculptin’ sonics.

Anyways, here’s some music I’m excited about, some locked in for releases and some loaded in the pocket for shows. Releases and tours INBOUND

And we’ve got Action in Auckland! courtesy of @anjunadeep and @audiology_touring .

Summer is really shaping up to hear some sonic bliss. I’ll be playing breaks and bunch of the new playlist for this year. Expect swung grooves and hard hitters!

So myself and @artist.ericpowell decided to get in contact after hearing a work in progress that I named Too Late.

Then we linked up in Coogee to have a chat about music. What’s cool is Eric said you made a dub track without even knowing it! So.. expect more on that note.

Anyway, He made an edit which we both vibed, then thought to add some vocals on Eric’s end, and next thing we know, is @carlcoxofficial is spinning it.

On reflection, I’m just grateful for opportunity, via Eric, for the love of music. Also big shouts to @bushrecords for making it happen.

Here’s some Rapid fire post show thoughts after a dream gig in my hometown, the Horden Pavillon. Fitting around 5000 people.

Years ago I’d be envious of the headliners, saying, I’m gonna play this venue one day to myself.

It’s moments like this when I’m so grateful to to all the Australian industry putting in the work.

Anyway, here’s what I had to say after ❤️

My good friend said the other the day to me something that resonated big time.

He said “You know what, musics a damn hard industry but Blake you look ALIVE when you are up there”. It’s true.

Anyway, This track is a work in progress that I’ve been opening with lately, it’s called “Deborah” named after my mother.

@_._aniolku_._ co produced on the midi side and we are thinking about a vocal feature too but for now it’s playable.

PLAYING B2B on the 1s and 2s with a dance music pioneer, and legend is no easy task. Someone with decades of experience over you.

You know the crowd will be great, the music will be great, but you DONT know if your own selections will make the cut.

What I didn’t know was that Jody, whist being at the stunning festival full of good times, is ACTUALLY writing music in his room 5 hour sessions before he plays. That’s how much he cares about the music. Lesson learnt.

Well anyway, i then came to find out that we both got the job done together with impeccable taste and style….. ous!

Another win for the blake08 project. Across the world in Dhermi, Albania.

FULL CIRCLE MOMENT:
In 2023 when Anjunadeep 14 came out, a certain track by someone I had never heard of at that point stood out especially to me. “Eyes Ablaze” by @blake.08_ was that track.

This was about the time I began the start of my music production journey.

I must’ve played it 200 times and was absolutely gutted one day when I saw it got pulled for a short while (due to copyright I assume).

Fast forward to April this year, Blake threw a post up with a tight deadline and the stems for this now Anjunadeep anthem “Eyes Ablaze”

Quickly I DM’d Blake, got the stems and went to work.

Over a weekend I played with several versions. Ultimately, I wrapped up a thumpy syncopated bass line version with a driving acid line, some original sound design coupled with the classic M1 sounds I love.

I sent it to Blake where he posted it with the other amazing remixes on his page.

I was asleep here in the US and woke up to dozens of messages of friends and people I’ve never met voting my remix. I was seriously blown away by the support.

Blake found out I was headed to the beloved @anjunadeepexplorations and wanted to link up for a cold beverage in the Albanian sun.

When we got together night 1, he said he was going to give the remix a spin and wanted me to come up.

Here’s a clip of that moment.

It brings me too absolute tears seeing this clip with that dance floor PACKED out and the unbelievable response from the crowd.

Huge thanks Blake for the opportunity to remix this anthem and having me up for a spin of it in front of the best crowd on earth.

Back from @anjunadeepexplorations landing in Sydney last night with a bit to say.

After the 3rd time participating in the festival it’s clear to me that @anjunadeepexplorations sets aside itself from most others.

It’s not JUST about the music, but rather the interactions between both the artists playing and the individuals attending. It’s one big family of miss fits flying from across the world, from all places, ages, races and regions.

It’s not often that you get a safe space across the world where everyone is equal friendly and forward to talk about their favorite music, foods, interests and story. On so many levels it’s just so good & is what music is about in the first place!

What makes explorations so good is not the artists’ playing, it’s the people.
