KINGDOM CITY @ NIGHT šŸŽ‰ As many of you know, we suddenly and unexpectedly lost our Sunday morning venue so we’re moving to a season of night church! Our time and location may be shifting, but our mission and vision isn’t. We are expectant for how God is going to use this transition to reach more people, grow our faith, and strengthen His church!

We are so grateful for all God started and did over the past year at St. Pius and look forward to how He will continue to work and move in the days ahead. Thank you @BrookhavenPres for leaning in and partnering with us in this season!

Following Jesus and partnering with Him in His mission in the greatest adventure. Let’s go, church! See you THIS Sunday, October 4th, at 5pm. taken in Brookhaven Presbyterian Church by @blake_odgers

ā€œWe should be more offended by our own sin and brokenness than we are the sin and brokenness of others.ā€ — @Blake_Odgers

Followers of Jesus should be the most self-aware people in the world. Through His Word and Spirit, God illuminates and convicts that we may grow in our ability name and confess our sin and brokenness to the Lord. As we do so, He changes us and purifies us that He may work through us in powerful and effective ways. taken in Kingdom City Church by @blake_odgers

After about 60 straight weeks of all gas and no brakes, I got the opportunity to get away for 5 days with some incredible men and leaders to enjoy the mountains and rivers of Montana. We celebrated one year of @kingdomcitychurch on Sunday and I couldn’t be more grateful. I love my calling and believe ministry is the greatest privilege, but I’ve been getting weary and this week gave me life. Surrounded by God’s creation and men I respect and enjoy, my soul was refreshed. I can’t thank @engagechurches enough for the invitation. Thank you @katieodgers_ for your sacrifice and support to give me the opportunity to say ā€œyesā€ to this trip. I also want to thank @refuge_foundation for all they do to keep leaders in the game and away from breakdown and burnout. taken in Bighorn River, Ft. Smith Montana by @blake_odgers

Are you committed to your growth and the growth of others? You don’t exist to merely consume; you exist to contribute and be a vessel of God’s power and love to others.

Be deeply aware that Christ is in you by His Spirit and let the whole of your life flow out of His indwelling presence and power.

ā€œthat according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faithā€¦ā€ // Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ taken in Kingdom City Church by @blake_odgers

I am so excited to have my guy, Nick Brandt, preaching at Kingdom City Church this Sunday. I was 19 years old when I met Nick and experienced relational discipleship and authentic community for the first time (two things that are now pillars of our church). God used him to stir my affections for Jesus and fan into flame my calling. Nick has a deep love for people and a passion for the gospel that are palpable whether he’s on a stage or across the table. It will be a gift to have him with us. Let’s have a great weekend, KCC family! taken in Kingdom City Church by @blake_odgers

The Church exists to pursue and fulfill the mission and vision of Jesus for the renewal of all things. We go where there’s lostness and darkness to bring the hope and power of Jesus that we may see people and places transformed by Him. Everything we do should work to form and equip people for this amazing purpose and privilege! Our agenda is submitted to His. Jesus, have your way! taken in Kingdom City Church by @blake_odgers

ā€œThe greatest enemy to the community God wants you to have is your own expectations.ā€ —Pastor @Blake_Odgers

Commitment to community often comes long before the joy of it. Stop waiting to find it somewhere else later; start working to build it where you are now. God has called where He’s called you and placed you where He’s placed you to love people and build community through you.

Release the dream.
Receive the gift.
Love the people around you. taken in Kingdom City Church by @blake_odgers

In Ephesians 2, Paul diagnoses the human condition—spiritual death. He tells us there are social, spiritual, and internal expressions of this death. It’s manifested when people are conformed to the world (social), blinded by spiritual darkness (spiritual), and enslaved to their own desires (internal).

The problem? To dominant society, this looks like life. What God describes as slavery, the world describes as liberation. What God describes as blindness, the world calls enlightenment. What God describes as being conformed, the world describes as individualism. What the world calls life, God calls death.

What does it mean to be dead? It simply means to be separated from the source of life. Physically, we are declared dead when we are separated from the source of life for our bodies. Spiritually, we are declared dead when we are separated from the source of life for our souls.

God stepped into humanity, in the person and work of Jesus Christ, to bring spiritual life to the spiritually dead. And this is an act of grace—a merciful God moved by love towards a people who need His rescue. The catch? We’re not allowed to help—because we can’t. We can’t bring good works because they’re not good enough. You can put makeup on a dead person, but they’re still dead. Our solution isn’t to try and coverup or glamorize our death; it’s to be rescued.

Jesus climbed into death to take hold of us and raise us to life. We simply have to receive His help—to let Him bring us to life by recognizing that we’re dead, need rescue, and He’s the only One who can do it. This is faith expressed through surrender. by @blake_odgers
