Bloomsbury Flowers was pleased to support the charity, The William Blake Fellowship, in making a floral offering at Bunhill Fields in The City of London for one of England’s greatest - the visionary artist & poet, William Blake and his often forgotten faithful support, his wife, Catherine.

Thanks go to the City of London for supporting the community charity, Friends of City Gardens, in this initiative, during the National Gardens Open Day.

The Blake Fellowship is trying to save Blake’s last residence in London, in South Molton Street, Mayfair. Any supporters of the cause, please contact them directly. 🙏💐

Blake’s words were chosen to represent the Spirit of Britain in celebrating our country’s rich history and culture at the opening of the 2012 Olympics screened around the world to 1 billion people.

‘England’s green and pleasant land’ was the central theme with Blake’s cottage playing a key role.

Not only that, but the choir also sang Jerusalem as the opening hymn.

In South Molton Street, round the corner from Bond Street Tube Station, William and wife Catherine lived and laboured for 17 years to write, create, craft through own invented printmaking and publishing process, and publish two of England’s great masterpieces ‘Milton A Poem’ and the 100-page illustrated epic poem, ‘Jerusalem the Emanation of the Giant Albion’.
