"The Rain" from Skin & Blister (Original Short Film Soundtrack).

A beautiful piece I was tasked to compose for @jaketheclicker upcoming short film "Skin & Blister". This track was inspired by "Arvo Pärt - Spiegel im Spiegel" and is meant to evoke a feeling of hope, acceptance and love during a cold rainy night.

You can listen to the other tracks before the films release on all your major streaming platforms.

Skin & Blister (Original Short Film Soundtrack) Album is available now!

"Hide & Seek" (2023)
Some friends and I participated in a 48-hour short film challenge a few weeks ago. Here's a peek at a short clip from it!

The Concept:
To write, produce, shoot and edit a short film within 2 consecutive days. The teams were divided in two, based on crew roles and were pitted against each other in an ultimate showdown for who could make the better film.

The Script:
Each crew member generated a single idea and threw them into a bowl based on 3 categories: Genre, Item and Character Archetype.

Selections:
Genre - Espionage
Item - Phone
Character Archetype - Streamer

Logline:
A blind crime-podcast streamer must find a way to escape her home from an intruder playing a sick game of "Hide and Seek".

Thoughts:
✅️ A very ambitious and creative idea that would push us to the limits to complete on time.
✅️ Shooting it from a phone perspective allowed us to speed up shooting times and limit coverage whilst keeping it inventive and creative.
✅️ Sound cues and VO help drive the story and explain exposition in a small time frame.
✅️ Shooting at night created a scary atmosphere that we were hoping to achieve.
✅️ Stitching shots to make it appear as a oner worked a treat.

❌️ The script was too complex of an idea to convey and effectively tell within the limited time frame.
❌️ Shooting at night meant we had more pre-production time but killed hours of post meaning not enough time to finesse the fine details. Also sleep deprivation 😪
❌️ Too many setups which became hard with the limited crew that we were operating with.
❌️ Didn't have any room in the schedule for re-shoots or pickups due to shooting at night.

We learnt alot over these 48 hours and it was such an invaluable experience. We didn't expect perfection but to challenge ourselves and utilise our skill set to their limits.

Thanks so much to everyone that helped out 👏🏼🙌

A few BTS snaps I took of "Piano", a short film @stevens__life directed back in late 2020.

I was also fortunate enough to compose the music for this awesome project as well.
