Our next post goes out to The Conscious Daughters.

Special One and CMG hit different. They burst onto the Bay Area Hip Hop scene in the early 90’s offering a new sound and perspective to West Coast Hip Hop.

Their debut album, Ear to the Street, is a Hip Hop Classic. The Conscious Daughters were innovators and pioneers that showed how special it can be to take the sound of Hip Hop and make it your own.

For keeping it real. Salute to The Conscious Daughters📍

Our next post goes out to Mikos Da Gawd.

A producer and DJ who has developed a complex and diverse sound that is all his own. Hailing out of San Francisco, Ca, Mikos Da Gawd spans across the spectrum of sound. From soulful to funky to hyphy, his beats take you on a journey.

Mikos Da Gawd’s production game has really takin’ off. He’s produced for Anderson Paak, Rayana Jay, Zion I, and many more. He has also released 6 of his own albums, all but one being strictly instrumental. His latest release “Astro Bounce” was a standout for us. Could listen to it on repeat.

For keeping Soul and Funk alive. Salute to Mikos Da Gawd📍

Our next post goes out to Prozack Turner.

A MC who has been in the game for over two decades and is still going strong. Prozack Turner releases solo work but he is also a part of the crew, Foreign Legion, hailing out of Oakland, Ca. Having toured the US, Europe and Australia more than once, Prozack Turner is a seasoned artist and you can hear it in his music. You can tell that he has true love for Hip Hop; what it is, what it should be, and what it can be. A real soldier for the sound.

In his debut solo album “Death, Taxes, and Prozack”, Turner worked with some of the greatest to ever do it in the production game. Jay Dilla, Madlib, and Pete Rock to name but a few. Prozack Turner has evolved through the years with his sound but you can still hear the influence of the MCs of the 80’s & 90’s, which we truly appreciate.

For never stopping the hustle and keeping true Hip Hop alive. Salute to Prozack Turner📍

Our next post goes out to Dj D Sharp.

The official DJ of the Golden State Warriors, leader of Table 5 Music Group, and member of MacArthur Maze.

Being the DJ for the Golden State Warriors is an accomplishment in its own right, but DJ D Sharp doesn’t stop there. He hones his craft while furthering his reach with his production company, Table 5 Music Group, based out of Oakland, Ca. Also hailing out of Oakland, MacArthur Maze is a group of producers and emcees that really has that Old School Hip Hop feel to it.

For reppin’ the Bay to the fullest and always coming correct on the beat. Salute to Dj D Sharp📍

Our next post goes out to Mike Mosley.

The Godfather of Bay Area Mobb sound, Mike Mosley, is one of the greatest producers to ever come out of the Bay and even all time. With over 22 million records sold, Mike Mosley’s success and talent speaks for itself.

More important than the success that Mike Mosley has experienced throughout his career is the influence that he has had on Hip Hop. He’s worked with the likes of Tupac, E-40, C-Bo, Spice 1, and countless others.

A living legend and a true representation of the effect that the Bay Area has had on Hip Hop. Salute to Mike Mosley📍

Our next post goes out to Rob Woods.

A rapper. A MC. However you dice it up, he is an artist who inspires through his craft. Rob Woods uses his life experiences and lessons to reflect, influence and educate through his music.

Rob Woods is one of a select few artists to have performed at San Quentin State Prison and he has also spent time at schools teaching kids about poetry and the benefits of creative expression.

For embodying Hip Hop and leaving the things he touches through his creative expression in a better state. Salute to Rob Woods📍

Our next post goes out to Ekzakt.

A producer and mix engineer hailing out of the Bay Area. Over the past decade, Ekzakt has truly honed his sound and the pieces are all falling into place. He has worked with some true Hip Hop and R&B greats and even legends in the game. The Dream, 6LACK, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Ant Banks and MOUNT WESTMORE to name just a few of the many artists Ekzakt has worked with.

Ekzakt describes his sound as “A combination between Timbaland and Rick Rock if they opened a trap house in Atlanta”. Which I think is a pretty fair assessment and why Ekzakt has that distinct Bay Area sound but he isn’t limited to it. He has the capacity to work and inspire through different avenues of music.

We appreciate you for evolving and keeping that Bay Area sound alive and well. Salute to Ekzakt📍

Our next post goes out to JULiA LEWiS.

A producer and songwriter whose sound is all encompassing and captivating. JULiA LEWiS is from the Bay Area who took his career to new heights when he linked with fellow Bay Area native, G-Eazy, for the hit single “West Coast”. His next big hit came in the form of double platinum when he linked with Young Boy Never Broke Again to produce and write on “Kacey Talk”.

What’s most impressive about JULiA LEWiS is his range. You can hear the influence of Jazz, Funk, R&B, and Hip Hop in his beats. You never now how or what’s going to come, but the beat’s going to hit right. JULiA LEWiS has worked with a plethora of other artists too. Most notably Lil Wayne, Ne-Yo, E-40, Bad Bunny, those mentioned earlier but the list and range goes beyond.

En route to search for the range that has no limits. Salute to JULiA LEWiS📍

Our next post goes out to C5.

A cerebral and complex lyricist from Oakland, Ca. Not only does C5 have music that really makes you think and reflect on life, he also has the capacity to put on some bangers to just vibe out to. Which I believe is a truly special ability to have in the Hip Hop and Rap game today.

C5 also uses his platform to spread knowledge, positivity, and love. Having opened for the likes of E-40, Chance The Rapper, Snoop Dogg, 21 Savage, Usher and more; C5 remains humble and is a true representation of what Hip Hop should be.

If you don’t know, now you know. Keep going. Salute to C5📍
