I keep having these moments where I stop and think… I can’t believe this is my life. 🥹

This week has been absolutely incredible.
Every rehearsal makes this production feel more alive.

Last night we had the opportunity to work with our choreographer, @blaqlestat Extra, and watching these scenes come together gave me chills. The vision, the storytelling, the movement… it’s all becoming something so much bigger than I imagined.

I’m beyond grateful to be surrounded by a cast that is not only insanely talented but also so supportive, welcoming, and full of heart. There is something really special about creating alongside people who inspire you to become a better artist.

To our set design team—thank you for literally building the world we’re about to step into. Watching your creativity bring this production to life has been magical.

To Nova… thank you for dreaming this dream big enough that all of us get to be a part of it. Thank you for trusting us with your vision, for believing in each of us, and for creating a space where artists can truly shine.

As performers, we spend so much time working behind the scenes.

Hours of rehearsals.
Sweat.
Mistakes.
Growth.
Trust.

People see opening night.

But they don’t always see the community that makes the magic possible.

And that’s what I’m most grateful for.

To every single person pouring their heart into Temple of the Muse…

This going to be a long post because I’m triggered.

- if you don’t chest pop your Krump is trash
- if you don’t have language then you ain’t saying shit
- if you don’t dance in street sessions you not a street dancer
- don’t ask when this session was because you don’t read the group chats and you were to lazy to pull up
- don’t tell me I need to change levels when you can’t beat me on the feet
- I been doing this dance ish for a long time and it’s always been black and street!
- I remember when you all didn’t even like street dance and wanted to do European styles and commercial dancing.
- No I don’t want to do your choreo or be your back up dancer if it don’t look for feel like this.
- I have given yall over 10 years of my art and adapted it to your preference. Now you gotta deal with the outcome of your poor taste and lack of care for the culture and my creativity.

Coming all the way from Bull City, East Blue Pirates is excited to have @sirmcfly_1 & @blaqlestat as our second set of Team Captains! If you’ve attended The Chamber, First & Last Session, or any other programs out in the RDU area, you know that these guys are a FORCE. Representing Mock V Fam, collectively, as well as Bullpin Radio, Movement, and Father to the Ungratefuls, these two are coming for the title at the first ever Pirate Games. Can they fill the last slot on their team and make the trip to Charlotte to secure their victory?? You’re gonna have to pull up to get that answer! We can’t wait to see you on the 6th!
