So this past weekend in my final wrestling season I fell short of one my life goals of becoming a national champion taking second place once again. Even though I was absolutely devastated upon not reaching my goal I realize I have a pretty awesome life, based on the fact that the worst thing that has ever happened to me in my 22 years of living is that I came in second at a wrestling tourney twice. Anyways, I really wanna thank the all family and friends that supported me throughout my career and I am thankful for every single one of you.
I also wanna thank the my teammates from UNCP and TC for helping me be the man I am today. For my senior year in the mat I want to especially thank my training partner @mikeythomas_2 for pushing me and never letting me take a day off. I want to thank my teammate/former roommate/Coach @2xd2141 for helping along my path, it's great to see you transition from an amazing wrestler to a great teacher of the sport. I want to thank our team ARC Dawn Brown for putting up with because I definitely don't know how to describe pain. I want to thank Rashaad Saunders for helping develop my wrestling from my freshman year to now. MY WONDEFUL girlfriend @faithdelaney_ who I have dragged along this journey for 5 years now and had to deal with a noddy wrestler who gives her skin funk every 2 weeks. And lastly, my Head coach OT Johnson, the man who took a shot on a 5th state placer from NJ when nobody else would and helped me accomplish so much in just 5 yrs.
I can't believe my wrestling career is over and all of this was possible because I knew the 17 yr old who only placed in states once was not the Blaze Shade he could be. Never settle and never quit. #BraveTough #ItsDeepInTheCreek #WrestlerForLife by @blaze_shade

I wasn't able to achieve my goal of becoming the DII National Champ at 174 as I lost in the finals and took runner-up. It greatly upsets me to be so close to one of my life goals and fall just that short. But even through all the anguish I'm also feeling thankful. I'm thankful for my amazing coaches who are really some of the top coaches in the nation. I'm thankful for my loving family and friends who showed their support. And I'm thankful for being able to be in that position and have one more year to go for the gold in 2017. So now it's time to get back to the grind and look towards earning a championship in Birmingham, Alabama. #Bravetough by @blaze_shade

Headed to South Dakota for nationals. I believe in my coaches and I believe in the system so now it's time for me to just believe in myself and do what I've been doing all year. by @blaze_shade
