Maggots to spiders, we cover them all!

Had a customer call today and ask if I could stop by his daughter’s house. She had some maggots coming into the home from a trash can sitting a little too close to the front door.

A little shop vac, a little water hose, and we got it taken care of. It was raining and gross outside, and I didn’t want her to have to mess with it.

That’s what we’re here for. Whatever we can do to help our customers, we’re going to do it. Customer service always comes first.

Have a great day, and stay dry, Oklahoma! This rain just keeps coming! #blazepestcontrol #socialmediamarketing #instagrammarketing taken in Edmond, Oklahoma by @blazepestcontrol

Can you do pest control in the rain? No… but also yes.

So what do we do on rainy days like this?

We keep moving. We’ll go ahead and take care of all the interior work while we’re there. Then, once the rain stops and everything dries out, we’ll swing back by and finish the exterior treatment.

It’s tough to reschedule an entire day just because Oklahoma weather decides not to cooperate. This way, we can still take care of our customers and make sure the job gets done right without cutting corners.

Have a great evening, and thanks for following Blaze Pest Control! #blazepestcontrol #facebookreel #SocialMediaGrowth #Oklahoma #rainyday #GodsPlan by @blazepestcontrol

This video was from a long time ago, back when I was still figuring out this whole social media thing.

I didn’t realize until after I posted it that I had TWO different songs playing at the same time. 😂

Definitely one of those growing pains that taught me to always go back, watch everything closely, and double-check it before I hit that post button.

When you start making content, you’re going to make some good ones, some bad ones, and sometimes you’re going to accidentally make your own remix. 😂

Still turned out to be a pretty good video… just with two soundtracks.

You live, you learn, and you get better.

Have a great one! #blazepestcontrol #socialmediamarketing #SocialMediaGrowth #facebookreel by @blazepestcontrol

What’s hiding above your ceiling?
Here’s Eric power dusting an attic. Power dusting adds another level of protection to your home by treating those hidden areas where pests can live and travel without you ever seeing them.
It’s a great preventative treatment, especially for pests like scorpions and brown recluse spiders.
Think of it as adding a third layer of protection to your home. We’re not just treating what you can see—we’re going after the areas you can’t.
Another tool we use to help keep pests where they belong: outside. #blazepestcontrol #localbusiness #Oklahoma #pestcontrol #spidercontrol #Scorpions by @blazepestcontrol

This past week I got to attend a Target Specialty Products conference and learn more about ants, especially fire ants.

One thing that really stood out to me—some fire ant colonies can have 150,000+ ants in them! That’s why you have to be careful around these mounds. You definitely don’t want your kids or pets messing with them. When that many ants are disturbed, they can come out fast and sting all at once, which can be dangerous, especially for small kids and pets.

I found this mound the other day, and it was a perfect example of just how crazy active these colonies can be.

Always learning and trying to get better at what we do! #blazepestcontrol #antsofinstagram #localbusiness #Oklahoma #pestcontrol by @blazepestcontrol

One thing we’re always looking for during our 360 walk around before we spray is anything that could cause a problem—ant mounds, wasp nests, spider webs, or anything else that catches our attention.

This is a perfect example. We found this ant mound really close to the back porch. It’s something that needs to be addressed before those ants start making their way closer to—or into—the home.

That’s why we do the 360 walk around. We’re not just spraying. We’re looking for problems and taking care of what we find.

Have a great one. See you later! #blazepestcontrol #antsofinstagram #localbusiness #Pestcontrol #edmondok #Oklahoma by @blazepestcontrol

I saw this video online and thought I’d share it. This is definitely an extreme case, but it’s a good example of why you don’t want large ant mounds—especially fire ant mounds—in your yard or close to your house.

Most ants aren’t really dangerous, but when you have a large colony and they feel threatened, they can swarm pretty quickly. That can become a problem for kids playing in the yard or dogs stepping near a mound. You definitely don’t want a bunch of them ganging up on little feet or paws.

Keep an eye on those mounds around your yard! #blazepestcontrol #localbusiness #oklahomacity #pestcontrol #antsofinstagram by @blazepestcontrol

A customer called us after finding what he thought were termites up in his ceiling—and after inspecting it today, he was 100% correct.

They actually saw live termites coming out of a small hole, and once we got up there and took a closer look, there was definitely some termite damage going on.

This is something you don’t want to ignore. Termites can do a lot of damage before you ever realize they’re there.

If you find something like this around your house or just want some peace of mind, give Blaze Pest Control a call and we’ll come check it out.

Hope you enjoy the video. Have a great one, and thanks for watching! #blazepestcontrol #edmondok #localbusiness #pestcontrol #termites by @blazepestcontrol

I had the privilege of meeting with a couple of my customers this morning, Cord West and Derrick West. These guys are starting up a new poop-scoop business called The Backyard Butler, right here in Edmond, Oklahoma!

They’re working hard to get their new business up and running, so I wanted to give them a shoutout and help spread the word.

If you’re tired of dodging landmines in your backyard and need somebody to come clean them up, these are your guys!

Go check out The Backyard Butler and show these guys some support. I always love seeing people take a chance, work hard, and start something of their own!

The Firehouse Scorpion Trap

I was out on a call, and apparently the guys back at the firehouse had a situation to handle.

They found this scorpion crawling around and decided the best way to contain him was with four Mini Slim Jims.

I came back to this masterpiece.

Not sure this is an approved scorpion trap, but you’ve gotta appreciate some good old-fashioned firehouse ingenuity. 😂 #edmondok #blazepestcontrol #firefighter Edmond Fire Department taken in Edmond, Oklahoma by @blazepestcontrol

Do you think this is an animal trail?
You can see how worn down this path is. Whatever is using it has been traveling the exact same route over and over again, possibly for six months to a year.
It just shows you how much traffic can move through one little trail going back and forth to food sources.
So what made it?
Harvester ants! 🐜
Yep, these little guys can create trails that look just like a small animal has been walking through the grass. Pretty cool what ants can do when they use the same path every single day! #blazepestcontrol #LocalBusiness #Oklahoma #PestControl #nature #ANTS by @blazepestcontrol
