Recently restored in 4K: Cauleen Smith’s 16mm debut DRYLONGSO, a sharp indictment of racial injustice and structural violence that made a lasting mark on American independent cinema.

At its center is Pica (Toby Smith), an outspoken art student in Oakland who witnesses young Black men around her dying at an alarming rate. Determined not to let their presence vanish unnoticed, she photographs them with her Polaroid camera, creating a personal archive against erasure.

This rediscovered gem from the 1990s DIY film culture blends political urgency with the immediacy of a handmade buddy film, murder mystery, and love story. DRYLONGSO—street slang for “ordinary”—captures the resilience and solidarity within the Black community of 1990s Oakland, and is ultimately an intimate elegy for a generation of African American men lost too soon.

La team BTEA était au Summer Afterwork par @blcklb_ au @silversquare.eu à Bruxelles, organisé par Renaldi & Joe, les fondateurs de cette agence qui booste les créatifs et entrepreneurs 🔥

Et franchement, cette 2ᵉ édition a tenu toutes ses promesses : ambiance musicale, talks inspirants et ateliers autour de l’entrepreneuriat 💼

🎧 @soundplugbe animait une session live avec Ephraim The Plug, suivie d’une belle performance de @yasminemsc
💪🏾 @juliette_in_brussels de @asbl_baob_brussels a abordé la thématique du cancer du sein, et @cynthia_bolingo nous a guidés à travers des exercices simples pour le bien-être et la performance.
🍗 Pause gourmande avec la soul food du @lan3.amavi (un délice 😋).
💼 Côté business, Ronel Manzeza (AMBA Studio) et Ted Bwatu (Equinox Consulting) ont partagé leurs conseils sur le freelancing et le financement de projets.

We were asked by @vi.bevoormuziek to share some insights on how artists can use their social media as a ideal playfield, so we did what we do best: advise in a very accessible way, mixed with some recent examples.

Our last Lunch Talks took place a few weeks ago in beautiful Bruges and it was one of our most engaging sessions yet! 💚

We had the chance to dive into participants’ cases and explore the nuances of online branding & engagement together.
