THANK YOU for being part of the 2026 Detroit Business Symposium!

Your presence, energy, and commitment to Detroit’s business community helped make this year’s DBS an incredible success.

Together, we brought entrepreneurs, business leaders, community organizations, and resources under one roof to connect, learn, build relationships, and create new opportunities.

We were honored to welcome an incredible lineup of speakers and special guests, including Morris Chestnut, Claudia Jordan, Orlando Bailey, Arian Simone, Brooke M. Edwards, Lashawna R. Manigault, Madala Mathurin, Maia Anthony, Jesse Dorsey, Matthew Nelson, Tee Twotimes, Britney Epps, Ebony L. Walls, Melissa Butler, Chris Crawford, Denzell Turner, Dominique Boyer, Fred Paul, Jaylen J. Burton, Martez Brooks and Jazmine Johnson.

Most importantly, we were able to put real resources back into the community.

15 Detroit small businesses received $2,500 grants to help support their continued growth and success.

We also proudly recognized Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. — Rho Sigma Detroit Alumnae Chapter with a $2,500 community service award after documenting an outstanding 964.5 confirmed community service hours.

THANK YOU to our DBS partners- @gilbertfamilyfoundation @bldetroit @agpfoundationorg and the Icon for the continued support and partnership.

To our attendees, speakers, vendors, volunteers, and everyone who helped bring DBS to life — THANK YOU.

This is what happens when community, business, and opportunity come together. We’re just getting started.

Stay connected for upcoming programs, opportunities, resources, and announcements from the Detroit Business Symposium. Be sure to check out our pictures and videos below.

Detroit showed up. Detroit showed out. And we can’t wait to do it again.

With appreciation,

This past weekend, we had the opportunity to spend some time in Detroit and capture a glimpse of the work happening through Black Leaders Detroit.

While attending the Black Leaders Detroit event, we caught up with their Vice President of Communications to hear more about the organization’s work and the impact they’re continuing to make throughout the city.

From supporting Detroit entrepreneurs and businesses to creating spaces that bring leaders, resources, and community together, it was great to experience a piece of that work firsthand.

Here’s a look inside the event and a little more about the work happening beyond it. by @bldetroit

We’re excited to announce that we’re receiving an $18,500 Community Multiplier – Member Match grant from @opportunityresourcefund and Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis.

With these funds, we will be able to support participant stipends and project management for our Building Fund initiative, helping three first-time Detroit developers gain hands-on experience and mentorship as they work toward completing residential rehabilitation projects.

This investment will help return at least three housing units to safe, habitable use in Detroit while preparing a new generation of local developers to preserve affordable housing and strengthen their neighborhoods.
