I shoot these a lot — bikes, cars, motorcycles — and I never really stopped to ask why until now. Always still, always waiting. Patient until they’re needed again. I think I see a little of myself in that..

Stopped here for some shade — the biggest challenge that day was keeping my gear dry

Years of figuring out the right clothes and shoes for this exact weather pays off every time. Once that’s sorted, all I have to do is show up and think about what I want to capture with my camera.

Pretty sights all over — even in parking lots

🤍

Just another corner

Snow sliding off roofs — only a matter of time

End of the walk. 7/11 it is — time to warm up and wipe everything down.

The snow rests

That tree wasn’t going anywhere

Not quite buried

Give it an hour and this will all look completely different 👀 by @bleahblabella

Forecast said blizzard, I said perfect! Scouted the whole neighborhood first, knew exactly what I was walking into — and the day was even better than I ever expected. Enjoy these pictures 🗻

Skid marks everywhere — everybody’s back out, back to work, back to life

I love this street. Stood here for maybe more than fifty minutes just taking it all in.

Snow breaking off the roof in pieces

After the blizzard, even the path is a guess — that’s the fun of it

My eyes always find the windows. Something about catching a glimpse of someone’s daily life

How long has that wood been there, I wonder

I stood there and watched everything change in minutes — the snow melts, the sun comes out, and just like that, the moment disappears by @bleahblabella

45 minutes. Same spot. A blizzard I didn’t see coming changed everything. Placed side by side — honestly, would you have known?

I could spend an unreasonable amount of time in front of a good food display

I stop for the most beautiful, simplest things. This is exactly why my walks take so long.

Footprints as a proof of life

Lines everywhere — look closely enough and you’ll start seeing patterns

Everything freshly covered

Looking up, straight ahead, down, wherever. I follow whatever pulls me first — I spare no time to second-guess. My camera, thankfully, knows how to keep up 😗💥

Hokkaido on long, mapless walks — just wandering through the quieter parts of the city with no real plan, just the way I like it.

Turns out my favorite thing to shoot will always be the stuff nobody stops for. A parked bike, a bird on a wire, luggage carts on a tarmac. I just let the city be.

My usual mapless walk led me straight into a memory. I realized I was standing on the exact corner where my dad and grandmother once sat, so I had to recreate the moment 🥺

It’s really a strange, beautiful feeling to layer your own walk over a family photo from decades ago.

San Francisco, you were so good to me. See you next time.
