Gloss over grief🩹

Gloss Over Grief is a three-image series that explores happiness as a form of denial and emotional escape. The
protagonist constructs carefully curated illusions to avoid confronting inner grief.
Joy as a performance - a polished façade masking what remains unaddressed beneath.
Each scene subtly alludes to forms of escape: drug addiction, constant attention from multiple romantic
interactions, and the illusion of luxury.
Together, these moments mimic joy - fast, desirable, and convincing - yet they remain hollow. They are not
true joy, but carefully constructed delusions that distract from deeper, unresolved grief.
