406 W 2nd St - Pomona, CA 91766, USA

🎉 Calling All BLERDS!!! Blerd.ie Con is back for its 2nd iteration.

Black Nerds unite and get ready to be part of something EXTRAordinary. We are continuing on the collaborative work started last year with Imperfect Creationz and the African American Advisory Alliance with the inaugural Black Nerds Inland Empire Convention and bringing together Black Nerds from far and wide for another fantastic time.

Step into the world of blerd.ie - where Black culture and Nerd culture collide!

Join us for a full-day celebration in Downtown Pomona at the Alliance Community Cultural Center, bringing together gamers, cosplayers, creators, and fans for an experience like no other. 🎉

”BLERD” (Black + Nerd) is more than just a label - it’s a movement that uplifts people of color in the worlds of science, technology, comics, anime, video games, and sci-fi.

At blerd.ie you’ll find:

Gaming Stations to play and connect
Cosplay Runway to show off your best look
Karaoke Takeover to sing your favorites
Panel & Discussions with artists, authors, and innovators
Meet & Greets with Black Authors & Illustrators
Cal Poly Pomona Afrofuturism cohorts
Black Marketplace & Artwalk to close out the night with culture, food and community

This year’s Art Exhibit curated by The Shop x 3-Bit Games takes us through the history of Black culture in comics, highlighting our past, celebrating current creators, and looking into our future.

Oooh and don’t miss our cosplay group photo (430p).

Come dressed in cosplay, bring your fandom, and get ready to celebrate creativity, culture, and community all in one place. Blerd.ie is where we belong!

🔥 BLERDIE RECAP PART 1! 🎨📚

What an incredible time at the Pomona Art Walk! ❤️ 99 Hearts Entertainment had the opportunity to host a panel on The Business of Comics, sharing knowledge, inspiring the next generation of creators, and celebrating the power of storytelling.

More than just comics, it was about community, culture, creativity, and showing love to the Black artists who continue to shape the world through their art. ✊🏾🖤 Huge love to everyone who came out, showed support, and helped make this event special!

This is what building together looks like. 💯🔥

🎬 **Part 1 - More of the recap coming soon!**

Blerdie showcase is getting installed with original works of art, a bit of Black Comics history, and pieces from private collections.

Even got the culdesac all cleaned up and ready to activate.

Thank you again to all our collaborative partners whove helped bring this celebration of Black culture together again this year.

Remember this is also Downtown Pomona's Halloween Artwalk so cosplay accordingly! We'll have tons of extra treats too.

See you soon!
