In the Bible, the biggest heroes we see had a small beginning. A shepherd in a field, a youngest child, a baby hidden in a basket, a harlot with a past, a fisherman, a penniless widow caring for her widowed mother in law, a barren woman, a child born out of wedlock...the list could go on. Time after time we see The Lord use those who never sought greatness. The humble and the weak. They were the ones God chose to do the greatest things. He doesn't call the qualified- He qualifies the called. If God calls you to do something- whether it terrifies you and pushes you out of your comfort zone- listen to His voice. Dont let fear take over, let Christ take over. You never know what He has planned for you, if you only trust in Him. 💜 by @blessedwithjamhands

October is Pastor Appreciation Month! Tomorrow is the official day. Be sure to let your pastor know how much you appreciate him. They do many, many things behind the scenes that a lot of people just dont think about. It is far more than just standing behind a pulpit each week. There are countless hours of studying, praying, and preparing to bring God's Word to the congregation. Meetings, counseling sessions, visiting people, emails, phone calls- at all hours. They carry the burdens of an entire church, all while balancing their own family and walk with The Lord. And let's not forget they are still humans- whose feelings get hurt, who get tired, who still make mistakes, who think about how they can help serve, protect, minister to and lift others up constantly. They do so much. So please pray for your pastor above all, and let him know how much you care. 💜

I am super thankful for my amazing pastor. And not just because he is my bonus dad. Ive never met a person who is as caring, loving, and faithful to The Lord, His Word, and His people. He makes these connections across the Bible that absolutely blow my mind, and it is evident The Lord speaks through him each week to reach many, many hearts. Im blessed with the best- and that is the truth. 💜 by @blessedwithjamhands

I feel like there is a big spiritual attack going on. A big one. Everywhere. With a lot of Christian soldiers I know and love. And that is hard. But God is our strength if we know Him. Where human faith falls short- The Lord's faith remains strong. Hallelujah, what a Savior. 💜

This is the goal. 💜

It can be hard when you see people who are "successful" in the worlds eyes. Tons of money, custom built homes, multiple cars, more degrees than a thermometer, doctor, lawyer- and there is nothing wrong with those things. But they are not what defines a successful life. It's okay if your kids wear second hand clothes. It's okay if you share a car. It's okay if your calling doesn't wow the crowd. It's okay if you're living pay check to pay check. None of that will mean anything in the scope of eternity. All that will matter is- do you know Jesus?

Our kids need to know priorities- and at the top of the list should be a life surrendered and given to Christ. That's it. That shouldn't change. That is the goal. Not stuff, not money, not fitting in, not anything in this world that can never satisfy. Those things leave you wanting more and more until its never enough, and then you're living in the ripple effects of sin wondering why you have everything you ever wanted- but are still not satisfied. A relationship with Jesus, however, is the only thing that will satisfy. No matter what things you do or dont have. His love and salvation will be enough for a life and eternity full of joy. That is the legacy our children need to follow. Trusting Jesus- that is all.

Focused Learning story of the day:

In Science, we are learning about our 5 senses. One of the exercises we did was finish the sentence with different prompts. One of the sentences said:

"Today, I heard...."

I told them to fill in the blank with something they heard in the cafeteria during lunch. I wrote their responses on the board for them to copy. One student said:

Student 1: "Speaking feet!"

Me:"...speaking feet?..."

Student 2: "Yeah! Meet Barbara!" **swings socked foot on the table** "And say hey to Hank!" **Removed Barbara from the table and places the next socked foot on the table**

Me: **mouth fallen open with a blank stare**

Student 1 & 2: belly laughs for the next 5 minutes.

Student 1 actually said squeaking feet, not speaking feet.

Happy National Sons Day to my 2 sweet boys. The oldest and the youngest. The scientist and the wildfire. My blonde haired green eyed boy, and my brown haired brown eyed boy. The one who made me a mommy and the one bringing in all the last firsts.
