POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We report 2023 days of Reports From Unknown Places!
I usually like to take milestones as excuses to try something new and confusing with Reports. This year, I missed the 5-year anniversary back in March, so the 2000 days anniversary had to be extra new and confusing. I made one report for each hour of the day: small squares drawn with wax pastels, interrupted sentences, one short minute at a time.
In the end, the sky is the sky, so a temporary change in format like this can still make sense, which is nice to realise. I do have to say, after trying this out, I have no plans to start posting hourly! We’ll keep doing the daily thing.
Thank you so much for paying attention to this project, whether you have a look once in a while, or it’s a daily meeting. This means a lot to me. A picture of 24 small pastel drawings on a green cutting mat, all depicting a different sky, progressing through a whole day. by @bleu_capsicum

I posted a reel of it yesterday, now here is the scan, with a few WIP moments!

As I mentioned, this is a 4 meter long (around 13 feet) pastel drawing that I made over the summer. I drew it on a roll of paper that I had lying around for many many years. It’s very thin paper, but it was perfect for pastel. I really loved working on this, I could have gone on forever if I’d let myself.

This summer, I worked on this 4 m (13 ft) long drawing. It's done now, just in time for September! I used Neocolor II pastels, broke a couple of them in the process. It’s awkward to look at and to photograph (just how I like it), but this video is a good start. I’ll post pictures and close-ups soon. #artwork #pastel #artistsofinstagram #illustration by @bleu_capsicum

Getting acquainted with Procreate…
#illustration #digitalart #artistsoninstagram #surrealism Digital painting, portrait orientation: under a pitch black sky, a bright, fluorescent, iridescent ocean. A figure is just coming out of the water, dragging their feet, with a tired demeanour. They bear the same iridescence, dripping and leaving small puddles in their footprints on the dark beach. by @bleu_capsicum

Different skies drawn in wax pastel, arranged in panels of different sizes, all stuck to one another on a sketchbook page. There are golden clouds in a dark blue sky, wispy white and grey clouds in a blue sky, purple clouds in a bright pink sky, a grey, overcast sky, a greenish sky with long, thin grey clouds, and a pitch black, starry night sky. by @bleu_capsicum

A wax pastel drawing: the piece is made up of many interlocked, random shapes, each containing a different scene, piece of sky or landscape. There is a house on top of a hill, surrounded by fields, a starry night sky, a birch forest, a wheat field, a cloudy sky, a pink sky filled with a murmuration, some puddles, a few people walking down a path surrounded by blue flowers, a glowing character standing under a green sky, a bright red pond filled with fish. by @bleu_capsicum

24 reports of the year 2024 from my daily meteorological fiction project, @clever_reports

and these 24 are available on Inprnt (link in bio!) Six squares in two lines and three columns of digital paintings: first is a starry night sky with a tree coming into the frame, second one is a cloudy sky with some birds flying, third one is a foggy seascape, fourth one is a bare countryside landscape under a cloudy sky, fifth one is a blue sky with some brightly lit, straggly clouds, and the sixth one represents a foggy landscape, with a lake, some tall grass, and a deer standing in the distance. by @bleu_capsicum

#illustration #pastel #surrealart #horrorart #artistsofig A pastel drawing: a small figure is leaning against a guardrail overlooking the ocean. The sea is a glowing, bright, neon green, and there is a giant, glowing, orange and yellow eye in the water, staring at the figure. There is a small crowd in the lower right corner of the frame, a few feet away from the character, chatting together. They're all slightly blurry, a bit faded. by @bleu_capsicum

#illustration #landscape #traditionalart #artistsofig #surrealart #painting A gouache painting with pastel details: some hills at dusk. The sky is a pale pink, the hills are grassy, blue and green, with a few houses here and there, tinted pink by the light. On the hill in the foreground, two glowing, white figures: a person and a dog facing each other. There is white light coming from outside of the frame. Small white flowers dot the grass. by @bleu_capsicum

#illustration #traditionalart #artistsofig #gouache #pastel #surrealart A gouache painting: in the background, a field bathed in yellow sunset light, with a line of trees. In the foreground, the field is plunged in the shade, and turns blue. There is a character falling upside down, seen from the back, lit a moonlight blue from the side; they're wearing a long skirt and they have short hair. by @bleu_capsicum

#traditionalart #colorpencil #artistsofig #illustration A colour pencil drawing: a person is walking in a field of grass, a green glow surrounding them. There is a beam of darkness descending from the sky upon the character, plunging this part of the drawing into night. Outside of the beam, the blue-green sky is almost full of clouds that are tinted pink in the top tier of the frame. There is a line of trees in the distance. by @bleu_capsicum
