From the freedom songs of the Civil Rights Movement to the dance floors of today. 🎶

Honored to share two recordings for GRAMMY® consideration:

🏆 Best American Roots Performance
“Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me ’Round” — Paula Boggs Band featuring Blind Boys of Alabama & Valerie June

🏆 Best Remixed Recording
“Soldier (LEEB Remix)” — our first-ever remix, bringing gospel together with Latin House and Afro House.

Eight decades of music, and still breaking new ground!

We recently marked a meaningful milestone: the completion of Harmony in Darkness: The Blind Boys of Alabama Story.

This film has been years in the making, shaped by the music, memories, friendship, faith, and support of so many people along the way. We are deeply grateful to all of the executive producers, producers, filmmakers, collaborators, friends, and members of the extended Blind Boys family who helped bring this story to life.

A small gathering in Hollywood gave us the chance to share the finished film with a few of those who have been part of the journey—including our longtime friend Timothy B. Schmit of the Eagles—and to reflect on the extraordinary legacy at the heart of it all.

Here are a few moments from the evening. More news on Harmony in Darkness will be shared when the time is right.

This year marked the 25th anniversary of our Grammy-winning album, Spirit of the Century. It was our first time working with Peter Gabriel and his label, Real World Records. The album was produced by John Chelew and Chris Goldsmith, and featured a special group of musicians, including Charlie Musselwhite on harmonica, David Lindley on guitar, and John Hammond on guitar and dobro. Some of the stand out songs from the album include our signature version of Amazing Grace and Way Down In the Hole, which became the theme song of the first season of The Wire. Join us down memory lane and give the album a listen this week! by @blindboysofalabama

This Sunday, while on tour, we celebrated our brother Ricky McKinnie’s birthday. You’ve heard him on records, seen him on stages around the world, and watched him earn multiple Grammy Awards. He’s our group leader, business manager, singer, and of course our dear friend. Join us in wishing Ricky a very Happy Birthday! Photo by @mikedunnusa #blindboysofalabama by @blindboysofalabama
