What a ride. @oasis Live ‘27 Postcards.

Four insane weeks secretly bouncing across cities on planes, trains, taxis, Vespas and helicopters to bring to life the brilliantly clever creative of @joshuahalling, @danielbroadley, & Sarah Mansfield.

Very grateful for the opportunity to make these with such ridiculously talented friends, for a band that’s been a part of so many of our lives. Ten year old me would never have believed it.

Big love to my Blindeye comrades, our crew, cast and local fixers along the way - and my family for all their support, both off and on screen ⚽️❤️

Last week, after a 15 year journey with dementia, we said goodbye to our Dad, Martin.

Dad was one of the warmest, funniest and most down-to-earth people you could meet. He always had a smile on his face and was usually laughing about something (except when City lost). He had a way of making people feel at ease and never took life too seriously.

He loved his golf, his football and, particularly, his films. He grew the finest DVD collection in the North West, and we’ll forever remember that time he handed us a VHS copy of Stand By Me recorded off the telly that installed that passion for film in us too.

We’ll miss his warmth, his humour, his laugh and that permanently smiling face.

Dad made a lot of friends over the years, through work, golf, football and all different walks of life. Plenty of our own mates knew and loved him too. So this felt like the best way to spread the word and hopefully reach some of the many people who knew him.

For anyone who would like to join us in saying goodbye, his funeral will be on Friday 16th October. Please drop either of us a message and we’ll ping across the details.

Jack Lightfoot and Sam Nutt have directed a quietly devastating film for Lewis Capaldi’s new single Stay Love, about the life of a young man caring for his dementia-affected father.

The strength of the film comes in the low-key but cinematic depiction of a daily struggle. It’s through a series of mundane events, repeated every single day, that we get to recognise the level of burden on the young man.

Featuring excellent performances from Paul Dewdney and Stephen McMillan, this comes from a personal place for Jack Lightfoot.

“For the past 15 years, my dad has been living with dementia,” he explains. “Watching someone you love go through that is incredibly difficult. And alongside that journey is another one that often goes unseen - the journey of the person who stays beside them through it all. For my family, that’s been my mum.

“Through the hardest years, she’s been there every day - caring, supporting, comforting, and giving more of herself than I ever thought possible. It’s a level of strength, patience and love that’s difficult to put into words. This film was inspired by witnessing that journey.

“It’s dedicated to my mum, and to carers everywhere - wives, husbands, daughters and, as in our film, sons. To the people who stay.”
