#albumcover #visualkei #leobirthdays (multiple) now a softened version of #xjapan ‘s initial “Psychedelic Violence Crime of Visual Shock,” v-kei is an awesome, androgynous glam look & 🎶 style taken up further (after X Japan) by Japanese bands like Dead End, D’erlanger, Color and one of my favs, #Bucktick (music for this post) whose opening line for the song “DRESS” is “Kagami no mae de kimi to madoromu” roughly translates as: “in front of the mirror, I doze off with you” taken in Seventh Heaven Bar & Karaoke by @blindobject

#glennbranca 100 Guitar Symphony No. 13 (Hallucination City) w conductor & guitar virtuoso #regbloor @lincolncenter last night was an off-the-charts, other-worldly trip into micro & over-tonal bliss! Ghost acoustics everywhere: in the overtone-rich waves of sound washing over us, we heard phantom choirs, brass ensembles, tuned gongs. An ecstatic mash-up of LaMonte Young, The Ramones, & Judas Priest—Branca’s hallucinatiry masterpiece —with Reg Bloor’s genius, energized conducting —will keep everyone who experienced it —high and happy for a very long time. by @blindobject

#patoleszco #sculpturecenter LAST DAY TOMORROW! Run don’t walk! #masterprankster BRILLIANT RETROSPECTIVE of Pat Oleszco’s work — and only half of what she has produced over the course of her life (much had to be recycled or disposed of in what she called “ritual cleansings” because of exorbitant storage costs) kudos also to the curators #sohrabmohebbi #jovannavenegas and one last note: my colleagues and I & our students @cmuschoolofart were lucky to have her as a visiting artist —her exotic parades & genius wearables & generosity left an indelible mark 💕✨💕✨💕 taken in SculptureCenter by @blindobject

#mexicocity still delirious from the confusing, rich, seductive, troubling layers & critical, often collective responses to structures of power across capital, genders, sexualities, spiritualities, eco-systems from #mayan to #aztec to colonial to #muralism to post-conceptual Mexican art [images jump back & forth between Centro Histórico, Anahuacalli (Diego Rivera Museum), Museo Nacional de Antropologia, @mmmmmaterial (Material Art Fair) & MUAC (University Museum of Conteporary Art), Espacio Cultural Bizarro, Parque Mexico] last video is an excerpt from the 1970s art collective No-Grupo installation called “The Artistic Lunch” — from a series of anti-object oriented “montage of plastic moments” @muac_unam taken in Mexico City, Mexico by @blindobject
