At 42, you get a free subscription to FabLab as a student. 🛠️💻🎛️

And sometimes, what you learn in C doesn’t stay on your screen.

Our student @blindsmyth loves building his own instruments to find sounds that don’t exist yet. Based on Axoloti / @ksoloti.axo , he built a sampler box that records acoustic instruments and transforms them into rhythmic soundscapes in real time. 🎶

The best part? The low-level C he’s learning at 42 could be applied directly to making the machine work.
From coding projects to personal projects. From an idea to something you can actually play. ✨

Because learning hits differently when you can turn it into something that’s completely yours.

Comment below: what would you build if you had the tools to bring your idea to life? 👀👇

And it makes cool sounds too 😎

Big up to @ksoloti.axo for helping me with their latest firmware and @karlosono for the Oled library.

„You Remember the Days? We had no network and still a connection - You Remember the Days? When we danced in the rain, and no one took a foto“

There are no better words to describe the madness of @garbicz_festival 2023! Since I arrived there Saturday afternoon it had been pouring constantly. Covered in mud, the ones that paid 3000€ for a clamping tent, the average festival goer, the struggling musician that is volunteering for free for getting a ticket; we were all the same, in the dirt, looking for shelter and dancing together as one in this unique magical moment ❤️☔️
Thank you all so much for sharing that energy with me! Now I understand why people told me that Winebar is the best stage at this festival 💝🍷🥂✨🌧🔥
I’m checking now the recording of the whole set, which you will find on my Soundcloud the next days
Thanks again and lots of love ❤️❤️❤️

What an absolute night! 🔥

A massive thank you to everyone who came out and turned the Tiefgarage am Bahnhof into an unforgettable, pulsating techno bunker with us. The energy, the grit, and the connection on that dancefloor were everything we love about Berlin’s sound—driving melodic techno and indie dance hitting straight to the chest, powered by our amazing folks at @popbastion.ulm for Sperrstunde 2.0.

Seeing you all lose yourselves in the music for free, right in the heart of Ulm, reminded us why we do what we do. Good times and great sound should always belong to everyone. ❤️

Ever since I started hacking the @1.0.1000 blackbox firmware I have so much more fun with this. #Reverseengineering #firmwarehack #customfirmware by @blindsmyth

This is insane 🤯 I prompted with @alyxxcould / @decksharkofficial and fayaaz forks of @m_i_x_x_x as an example, thanks for your efforts and sharing your code! Now I have a custom version of mixxx for IOS. It even loads rekordbox libraries from the usb. Have to fine tune the UI and controller mapping a bit but this is promising! If anybody has the insta Tag of fayaaz let me know and go head and support the other projects mentioned here!

Lil explanation of the midi file player that I hacked into mixxx and why this is more fun than firing of clips in abelton.
#diydjtech #mixxx #vibecoding #diydjsoftware by @blindsmyth

I managed to vibe code a midi file player into mixxx. So midi notes are running in parallel with a playing track into my voice live harmonizer. Since mixxx also allows you to have access to individual stems I’m hoping for a more spontaneous performance style since I’m less locked into preparing clips in Ableton.
The track „Die Tirfe“ is based on a poem by Paul Celan and out on @connaisseur_recordings

Practicing on my self built loop machine. This idea started at @neusfestival when I recorded a loop with one octave up by accident which gives this tapping pattern a really synth like arpeggiated sound.
From there I started layering and building.
