Our last night of vacation 😢
We took the high speed train from Valencia to Madrid. We ran around all day and by the time we knew it, it was dinner time. Of course Reymond had no idea what he wanted and finally I chose sushi and found this randomly and said let's go there...
Then as we pulled up...it's a frickin Michelin rated restaurant for 3 years!!! My heart sunk and I felt we couldn't get in. We were both surprised when they squeezed us in for a basement table - but let me tell you that the basement was even more gorgeous and intimate than the main floor. Everything was delicious and when the bill came it was cheaper than some high end sushi spots in the Tampa Bay area. Woohooo! Hotaru for the win!!!!

Our last night in Valencia. We wandered the quiet streets and soaked up every bit we could.
Usually this fountain is too crowded. Tonight it was magical.

One of my favorite markets in all of Spain. It's a normal market for locals and a food-gasm for visitors. So many colors, textures, smells, and sights. Just don't touch because that's a cultural NO-NO.

We ❤️ Valencia!!!! The first time we came here we would go back to this area every day. Some days to walk the Turia River Park, other times to sit and look at this insane architecture and modern marvel. Santiago Calatrava designed this out-of-this-world project that completed in the early 2000's. If it looks familiar, he also designed the Oculus in NYC last World Trade Center. I could lay down and imagine this opera house taking off into the cosmos. Just breathtakingly gorgeous....AND...AND...it's covered in mosaic too!

Oh abd it's featured in Andor the series too !

This was in the Rusafa hood in Valencia which is basically Williamsburg or Greenpoint in feel. It's lovely, but I don't think I am built for it... taken in Valencia Rusafa by @blindspotinthematrix

First day and night in Valencia!
This Plaza de la Reina! One of the city's gathering spots where people go to walk, people watch, and have beers or gelato. It's calming and reminds me loosely of people watching in Union Square or Central Park. Great weather too! taken in Plaza De La Reina by @blindspotinthematrix
