Still strikes a chord. My mother made sure that I was aware of what was going on during the 60’s & 70’s. The year The National Guard shot & killed 4 unarmed Kent State students & injured 9 others who were protesting the Vietnam War, she hauled me out of school attend Brown University graduation to see the students protesting & staging vigils for the victims. In the age of trump, an unfortunately prescient tradegy. VOTE. Lives depend on it… by @blissdavis595

When this song was a hit in 1969, I had my first transistor radio - small, square and red with a wrist strap. I listened to it constantly. I innocently misheard the lyrics & thought the chorus was ‘I’m your penis, I’m your fire’, thinking ‘they can’t say penis on the radio!’ They weren’t! by @blissdavis595
