Honestly my favorite wrap up of the year. One of the few constants of this year that helped me through dark times. Here’s to another year of reading & revisiting amazing stories ✨🥂 by @blissful.reading

Happy November!! Excited to fall back into my romance books! by @blissful.reading

good morning @johngreenwritesbooks, it’s Friday! (Or Thursday as I’m posting this!) Throwback to earlier this month! it was such an honor and privilege to be in the room where it happens - seeing John Green & his brother Hank talk about his new adult fiction book! John Green books remind me of the 2010s, the tumblr days, and just the angst of high school. Some of his books got me back into reading. Hearing him speak about his passions, advocacy, & his wisdom was so inspiring! I hope he never stops writing & im excited to dive into this book asap! by @blissful.reading

This is my second time reading this. It ignited my curiosities for dark academia. Although, I still believe the genre isn’t for me, I do appreciate this book as a whole. If you are a lover of mystery, Shakespeare, and unlikeable characters, this book is for you! I forgot this book had an open-ending and it surprised me! by @blissful.reading

Maybe this is a confirmation that cozy fantasies are just not for me. This book specifically struggled grabbing my attention for the majority of the book. I did appreciate following an immigrant fortune teller and interpreting the immigrant experience in a fantasy lens, but story-wise, this book was personally not for me. by @blissful.reading

throwback to the north park book fair earlier this month! despite it being so hot, it was still so fun!! found lots of books that’s been on my list for a while & even made a side quest buying puzzles afterwards. overall a fun event!! I’m still behind in posting since there were just soo many fun book events happening back to back to back. it’s the best time being a book lover for sure 📚♥️ by @blissful.reading

Another disappointing book. My first Ruth Ware book and probably my last. I thought this was be fun to pick up since it was a thriller and it’s spooky season. I don’t know why I just don’t think her writing is for me. It felt so slow majority of the book it was hard to pick up during the week. I also didn’t love Lo as a character either. Hard to root for. Also this was somehow claustrophobic to me since it was set on a cruise. by @blissful.reading

This is my first time reading a Cassandra Clare book and I wasn’t sure if this was the best place to start. I knew this was a prequel to the Mortal Instrument series but I feel like I should’ve read that series before diving into this one. I just felt so lost in the beginning. I’m not familiar with the magic system. Although having vampires & warlocks felt fitting to read this time of year, I just felt like I was missing a big part of the story while reading it. There were times I DNF’d because I couldn’t get into it but kept pushing cuz this series was so popular. Maybe this kind fantasy is just not for me. Maybe I should’ve started with City of Bones instead. Either way, this probably wasn’t for me and I’m sad to report it. by @blissful.reading

another author event in the books! I’m so glad I was able this was my second time meeting @authorlylasage this year (first time in the LA Festival of Books) except I was finally able to take a photo with her. I read most of her books this year & loved how much she’s evolved as a writer. My favorite one of hers is still Lost & Lassoed. This event specifically was special because I made friends with a few book readers in line & we were able to fangirl while waiting. Super thankful I live in a city where I get to attend book events like these 🤍 thank you @meetcutebookshop for inviting our favorite authors to promote their books!! I know this won’t be my last (I’m back logged with posting so I have at least one more author event to post lol) by @blissful.reading

I’ve read a couple Riley Sager books in the past and this one did not disappoint! It was an exciting way to get back to thrillers! A little slow in the beginning but the multiple plot twists kept going and I was having whiplash!! My jaw was dropped every time and I didn’t want to stop reading. Did I love the “magical” element? (if I could even call that) I love the surprise of it but this was also kinda of weird in a thriller book. I will say this was a fun time!! And justice for all the women who had abusive crazy husbands!! This reminds me I need to read more Riley Sager period.

Side note: I didn’t even know Goodreads started doing half stars. This is a game changer!! by @blissful.reading
