✨🔦 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT 🔦✨ The countdown is on! Just 8 days until our pop-up gallery opens at @movelbforward on March 20, from 5pm to 9pm.

ezra(he/him/his) @blkertheberry is an apocalypse prepper in the lineage of Octavia Butler. His art practice is tied together through the thread of surviving the ongoing and upcoming environmental apocalypse. His work focuses on the material + fiber arts ; he’s drawn to bugs as teachers, natural dye, quilts from Gee’s Bend, and block printing.

In the next slides, you’ll get a sneak peek of ezra’s past creations, but you’ll have to join us at the opening to experience his Reimagining Connection art.

Stay tuned for more Artist Spotlights as we count down to the big reveal! by @blkertheberry

Today was a beautiful reminder of the community and society we can build together! Rooted Connections had a blast at the first ever Sacred Exchange at @gentecommunitygarden coordinated by our very own @godfreq_dwcoach (and @sage__ivory)!

Our art activism offering was in collaboration with @blkertheberry ✨

A big thank you to our wonderful volunteers! 💕 if you loved todays event drop some love for Dionne in the comments 👇🏾

Folks are free to design/carve whatever they feel called to & for those who desire a prompt we’ll share some archival linocut prints that center condemning and dispelling state propaganda. Here’s how it works:

(1) Enjoy a brief instructional talk with ITS-IN-SCOPE archive caretaker, Ezra (@blkertheberry)
(2) Design and carve your own linocut blocks with the provided tools
(3) Participants will receive paper & recycled fabric patches to print the designs

Sliding scale [$15-$25]
If you’re Black + cost is a barrier, please select “Free Community Ticket”
