One of my favorite things about these B roll days is that nothing has to be staged.

Alex booked two models during her 2.5 hour session, and while she focused on taking care of her clients, I focused on capturing everything else.

The little details. The setup. Sanitizing between appointments. Product shots. Behind the scenes moments. The kind of content that’s almost impossible to film when you’re the one performing the service.

She’s already great at editing and knows exactly how she wants to show up online. She didn’t need someone to create the content strategy for her. She just needed someone behind the camera.

Everyone sees the finished Reel.

Somewhere along the way, content stopped being fun.

One thing about me? I’m ALWAYS filming b roll while I work 😂📸

Not because I’m trying to make some huge production every day… but because those tiny little clips add up FAST.

A few seconds of:

🖤 setting up your station
🖤 mixing products
🖤 client reactions
🖤 treatment clips
🖤 clean up
🖤 little details around your space

…can easily turn into multiple reels, stories, voiceovers, educational posts, trending audios, before & afters, etc.

You do not need to constantly reinvent the wheel to create content. Sometimes the best content comes from simply documenting what you already do every day.

Working with Rosanna is always such a great time! And I'm always happy to sneak away from the Midwest for some palm trees & sun! 🌞🌴

This is the second time she has flown me out to LA for 3 full months' worth of content. We always take two full days to film & map everything out previous to me coming. For her we typically do models one day & education/broll the second day.

Before we even started we nailed down the look & vibe she was going for so content days are a breeze since we are both locked in on the same page. One thing I love about working with other estheticians is that I'm an esthetician myself meaning I get exactly what shots you're trying to capture & what actually is going on in the content itself. 😉

Each month for the next three months she'll have 12 videos (3 videos a week) ready to post! One less thing she has to worry about while taking care of her business, clients, & most importantly her family. 🖤✨ by @blklblmedia

5 years later....

Sometimes I think about how different my life would look if I actually listened to the people who told me not to start my own business. The people who doubted me. The people who thought it was “too risky” or “too hard.”

And honestly… they weren’t wrong about one part...Opening your own business is hard.

It’s overwhelming. It’s lonely. It stretches you in ways you never expect.

But it’s also the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.

BLK LBL esthetics was built out of a vision I couldn’t shake. Something in me just knew I was meant for more than playing it safe.

And if I would’ve ignored that? If I would’ve believed the people who told me I couldn’t do it? I wouldn’t be here. I wouldn’t have this business. I wouldn’t have this version of my life.

If you feel that pull to create something of your own
follow it.

Even when it’s scary.

Especially when people don’t understand it.

Because the truth is… the right dreams don’t go away.

Day two vlog is HERE ✈️🎥

Today was a dayyy in the best way.

Started my morning heading to the airport, hopped off the plane, & went straight into her studio to film day one of content… & listen… we got SO much done 😭🖤

Models were modeling, lighting was lighting, & the ideas were flowing. It felt so good to create with someone who gets it.

We wrapped the day by going to her mom’s restaurant & oh my gosh… it was DELICIOUS. Like… I’m still thinking about that meal.

If you watched the video, here’s the full story… 👀

The esthetician I’m flying out for? We’ve actually been internet friends since before BLK LBL esthetics even existed. So when she texted me asking if I’d fly to LA to create two months worth of content for her… I didn’t even hesitate. I said absolutely without thinking twice.

From there, we did a full discovery call after her inquiry so I could understand exactly what type of content she needed, how she wanted everything to feel, and what her overall goals were. Once I had all the details, I sent over her quote, she approved it, and we immediately went into planning mode.

We booked flights, got dates locked in, and while all of that was happening she was sending me inspo she loved — which helped me build out the big content document. This is where every single idea for both filming days lives… from the aesthetic visuals to the educational long-form videos for her subscription service.

We split everything into two full filming days:

Day 1 is all about models and aesthetic content: the service shots, the lifestyle clips, the before & after moments.

Day 2 is focused on educational content for her clients and subscription platform for other beauty professionals: the breakdowns, the tips, the teaching moments that build trust & leadership.

I’ve been so excited for this project and it already feels so full-circle to finally be doing this with someone I’ve known online for years.
